Combining Porsche Owners Club competition with factory-backed support from Porsche Motorsport North America, Porsche Sprint Trophy POC delivers an exciting new grassroots racing destination on the West Coast in 2027.

Created by the Porsche Owners Club in collaboration with Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA), the championship will visit Spring Mountain Motor Resort, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (twice) and Willow Springs International Raceway between February and July.
The series will operate as a dedicated class within existing POC race weekends, combining the club’s established competition structure with technical, engineering, parts and marketing support from PMNA.

“The new championship strengthens the North American Porsche Motorsport Pyramid by creating an accessible and cost-effective racing opportunity on the West Coast. “At the same time, it preserves what has always made POC special: a race-focused environment where drivers can progress, build lasting relationships and enjoy competing with fellow Porsche enthusiasts.”
Cup and Clubsport classes confirmed.
Porsche Sprint Trophy POC will feature six current and recent Porsche customer race cars.
The Cup class will be open to the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2), and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Types 992.1 & 991.2).

Class identification will be displayed on the wing endplates, mirrors and number boards. Cup cars will carry fluorescent yellow markings, while Clubsport entries will be identified in gold.
The range of eligible cars will allow owners of several generations of Porsche competition machinery to enter the same championship. It will also provide a West Coast racing destination for the 911 Cup and new 911 Challenge.
Introduced in August, the 911 Challenge is positioned as a new entry-level race car within the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid. Based on the Type 992.2-generation 911 GT3, it uses a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 508 bhp and a seven-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission.
It joins the 911 Cup, the latest generation of Porsche’s established one-make racing platform, among the cars eligible for the inaugural season.
Competitors will also receive priority access to new Porsche race cars from the factory.
Two races at every round.
Porsche Sprint Trophy POC entries will compete within the POC Red Run Group, with each championship weekend featuring practice, qualifying and two 30-minute races.
The planned schedule begins with four 20-minute practice sessions on Friday.
Saturday will include two 25-minute practice sessions, a 15-minute qualifying session and the opening 30-minute race. A further 25-minute practice and second 15-minute qualifying session will take place Sunday before the weekend’s final 30-minute race.
The number of laps will be declared separately at each event.
The United States Auto Club will oversee technical scrutineering throughout the championship, helping maintain safety and parity across the two classes. Participation in the events will also count toward an FIA competition license.
Cup and Clubsport champions will receive trophies and an invitation to the Porsche Night of Champions in Stuttgart, Germany. The annual end-of-season celebration brings together title-winning drivers and teams from Porsche championships around the world, placing the inaugural Sprint Trophy POC champions alongside the brand’s leading performers from across its international motorsport programs.

Porsche Sprint Trophy POC will complement
The two regional championships establish grassroots entry points on both coasts for drivers moving into Porsche One-Make competition. Racers can progress from Sprint Trophy into Porsche Sprint & Endurance Challenge North America by Yokohama before advancing to Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
The championship will begin at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada, from February 19–21.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will host the second round from April 9–11 in conjunction with Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama, bringing two levels of the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid together on the same weekend.
The third round will take place at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, California, from May 15–16. The circuit will also offer an optional open-practice day on May 14, with competitors registering for that session directly through Willow Springs.
The championship will return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for its inaugural season finale from July 23–25.
