Porsche Selected Driver Program North America

The Porsche Selected Driver Program North America identifies exceptional talent ready to progress beyond Porsche One-Make racing.

The bridge to professional GT competition.

Positioned as the step beyond the Porsche Junior Program, the initiative provides selected drivers with focused support to accelerate their transition into IMSA, SRO, and other professional championships.

Through official Porsche recognition and tailored development tools, participants gain the resources needed to compete successfully at the highest levels of sports car racing.

Climbing the pyramid.

A proven launchpad.

The Porsche Selected Driver Program serves as a critical step for drivers transitioning from Porsche One-Make championships into professional open-competition GT racing. Program alumni have progressed from Porsche Carrera Cup North America to compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, SRO GT World Challenge, and iconic international 24-hour endurance events such as Daytona, Nürburgring, and Le Mans, underscoring the program’s impact on the global stage.

Development and mentorship.

Selected drivers receive individualized support through one-on-one mentorship with Porsche racing professionals, including former factory driver Patrick Long. This guidance sharpens on-track performance while also addressing race strategy, team integration, media engagement, and career management, preparing drivers for the demands of top-tier endurance racing, including opportunities in premier machinery such as the Porsche 963.

Comprehensive program support.

The Porsche Selected Driver Program delivers targeted financial backing and hands-on support designed to help drivers secure competitive opportunities with Porsche customer race teams. This integrated approach ensures drivers can focus on performance while accelerating their progression into professional GT racing.

Access to professional GT racing programs.

Drivers are placed in top-tier championships that provide real-world experience in highly competitive, globally recognized GT racing environments.

Recognition as a Porsche Selected Driver.

Official designation elevates driver visibility within Porsche Motorsport, signaling credibility and achievement.

Mentorship from Porsche professionals.

Ongoing mentorship from former Porsche factory driver Patrick Long supports technical development, race strategy refinement, and adaptation to the demands of professional competition.

Assistance in securing race seats.

The program actively supports driver placement by connecting participants with established Porsche customer race teams competing at the highest levels.

We’ve watched both of these talented divers improve their craft through Porsche single-make racing here in North America and each has earned this honor. We’re proud of Ryan and Tom and look forward to watching their careers develop in the United States and around the world as PMNA Selected Drivers.
