Porsche first realised the idea of organising a one-make cup with the 911 model in Germany in 1990. Since then, the German Carrera Cup has become a highly regarded championship. With 30-minute sprint races in a professional environment, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will continue to provide an intense and varied experience for participants, spectators, guests, and partners alike in 2025. As the oldest Porsche one-make cup in the world, it is renowned for its thrilling contests between aspiring young drivers and seasoned veterans, who race with technically identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
The current season
The 2025 season of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland features 16 races across five countries. The season will begin with two rounds as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Imola, Italy, and Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Six DTM events will complete the racing calendar, including the city race at the Norisring in Nuremberg. The one-make cup is entering its 36th season, with 28 drivers registered permanently from ten countries, including Australia, Brazil, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. Eight teams will enter the approximately 375 kW (510 PS) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, in some cases with two separate teams.

Safety-Car
For six years now, the Carrera Cup Deutschland has relied on electrifying performance when it comes to safety cars. In the 2025 season, race management's lead car is a Porsche Taycan Turbo S (combined power consumption of 20.0–17.8 kWh/100 km and combined CO₂ emissions of 0 g/km, CO₂ class: A).
With its sharper design, increased power and range, and enhanced charging performance, Porsche has significantly updated the Taycan in the last year. The simultaneous increase in performance and efficiency is due to several factors: a further developed drivetrain with a new rear axle motor; a modified pulse inverter with optimised software; more powerful batteries; a revised thermal concept; a next-generation heat pump; and an optimised recuperation and all-wheel drive strategy.
These updates also benefit the safety car of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. Race management relies on electrifying performance once again, sending a Porsche Taycan Turbo S onto the track as the lead vehicle when required.
With an overboost output of up to 700 kW (equivalent to 952 PS) and all-wheel drive, the Taycan Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds. Its top speed of 260 km/h makes it perfect for taking on the role of safety car.
