How to Start in Motorsport: A unique path of Porsche Cup Brasil
In the world of motorsport, turning a dream into reality often depends on external support — independent teams, sponsorships, or pure chance.
Porsche Cup Brasil reinvented this model and created a comprehensive driver-development system - built within its own structure and embedded in the official Porsche one-make environment.
From theory to practice, from the classroom to the grid — the beginner category “Trophy” proves that stepping into motorsport can be structured, safe, and exhilarating.
Trophy - The perfect entry-level category for passionate drivers ready to make their mark.
Launched in 2022, the Trophy is a unique category that serves as a true competition-school, it offers newcomers the opportunity to learn and grow within an authentic racing environment.
Since its launch, the series has hosted 16 rounds and welcomed 53 drivers — each with a unique story of progress that has become a benchmark for the program. Among them are Silvio Morestoni, now a front-runner in the Carrera Cup, and Letícia Bufoni, who began her transition from skateboarding to motorsport through the Trophy . Their journeys highlight the program’s ability to embrace diverse profiles — from emerging talents to elite athletes.
A distinctive Set-up
The Trophy was designed as a professional driver-development platform. It offers five racing weekends on different circuits, including practice sessions, qualifying, and official races. With every round, drivers progress not only in experience but also in performance.
Technical and Educational Highlights
Progressive power-limitation system: Cars gain power step by step as drivers evolve.
Real-time radio communication: Instructors and engineers guide drivers during sessions.
Passenger seat option: Coaches can ride along during practice for hands-on feedback.
Onboard telemetry and video: Every lap is analyzed to optimize performance.
Behind it all, a team of 30 certified professional drivers acts as coaches, supported by a dedicated engineer and mechanic per participant—a structure probably unmatched in any one-make series worldwide.
More Than Racing — Learning with Purpose and Precision
The Trophy is more than a competition; it’s a structured pathway for growth. Its format is designed to ensure continuous learning and uncompromising safety.
Starts, for example, follow a safety-car procedure, minimizing risk during the most intense phase of the race.
Each weekend, drivers experience the full cycle — practice, qualifying, and race — immersing themselves in the routine of a professional competitor, supported by technical and psychological guidance at every step.
The result? A solid foundation that prepares participants to advance confidently into higher categories such as the Porsche C6 Bank Sprint Challenge Brasil, the Porsche C6 Bank Carrera Cup Brasil, or even international championships.
Stories That Inspire
Silvio Morestoni is a perfect example of what the Trophy represents. Starting his journey in this category, he has become a prominent name in the Porsche C6 Bank Carrera Cup Brasil, proving how natural and effective the progression within the Brazilian Porsche one-make championships can be.
Global skateboarding legend Letícia Bufoni found in the Trophy a reliable and professional route to embrace motorsport.
Each story reflects a unique perspective of the same path — Porsche Cup Brasil as the ultimate starting point for those who dream of living motorsport professionally.

Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Program: Shaping Future Talents
Launched in 2020, the Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific (PMAP) Selected Driver Program has become a cornerstone in identifying and developing promising racing talent across the globe. Its mission is clear: to scout young drivers internationally and from the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia talent pool, offering them a pathway into GT racing at both regional and international levels. The ultimate goal is to prepare these drivers for recruitment as Porsche factory professionals.
The program delivers a comprehensive development package that goes far beyond racing. Participants benefit from structured program development, financial support, and expert coaching, including guidance from seasoned professionals like Sascha Maassen, fitness training, and media coaching in PR and marketing. This holistic approach ensures that each driver emerges as a complete professional, ready to compete at the highest level.
Since its inception, three drivers have earned the coveted PMAP Selected Driver status. The first was Alessio Picariello, who joined in 2020 and quickly made his mark by winning the European Le Mans Series with Proton Competition. He followed this with a strong performance at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2021, finishing fourth in class, and debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Absolute Racing, securing seventh in class. His consistent success led to his promotion as a Porsche factory driver in 2022.
In 2022, Yifei Ye became the first Chinese driver selected for the program. His development focused on versatility, combining GT racing with prototype experience to pave the way toward Hypercar competition. Yifei’s journey included LMP2 outings in the European Le Mans Series and GT appearances in the Asian Le Mans Series, culminating in his 2024 campaign with Hertz Team Jota in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The latest addition, Dorian Boccolacci, joined in 2025 after an impressive season in Asia, highlighted by a podium finish at Okayama in the GT World Challenge Asia and a strong showing at the Sepang 12 Hours. His first year in the program has been dynamic, featuring multiple podiums in GT World Challenge Asia with PGR, a pole position in GT World Challenge Australia, and appearances in prestigious events such as the Suzuka 1000km, the FIA Macau GT World Cup, Super GT Sepang, and endurance classics like the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The PMAP Selected Driver Program stands as a unique platform for nurturing talent, combining competitive opportunities with professional development. By bridging regional racing with global exposure, it continues to shape the next generation of Porsche factory drivers.
