Pascal Wehrlein retook the FIA Formula E World Championship lead going into the final stages of the season as Porsche handled challenging conditions at Shanghai superbly.
Rain affected both races and led to last-minute schedule changes to avoid the worst of the weather - including practice sessions starting at 6am local time.
Those strong results propelled the Season 10 champion back into the lead in the
Porsche extended its manufacturers' championship lead to 50 points over the weekend, and closed to within six points of the teams' championship lead too.
Story of race one
From pole position, Wehrlein stayed in control of a very tight lead group through the first half of the race, always able to regain first place swiftly whenever any of his closest rivals snuck through.
He pitted from the race lead to take his Pit Boost recharge on lap 16 and cycled back to the front as the rest of the lead pack came in.
A safety car for worsening weather brought the pack right back onto his tail, but at the restart Wehrlein immediately took his attack mode without losing the lead and then simply pulled away from everyone to secure a commanding win.
It marked Wehrlein’s second win of the season, and his first in Shanghai.
His team-mate
It paid off as he came back through to claim the final point in 10th place.
Story of race two
Wehrlein and Müller were the class of the field in the wettest stages of race two, rapidly moving up into a commanding one-two formation.
This race became a split between two different strategies, though, with the Porsches among those who took early attack modes and pushed hard in the wettest conditions.
Others gambled on the track drying later, saved energy and attack modes for the end, and used dry weather set-ups.
The conditions moved in that latter group's favour, which meant Wehrlein was not in a position to hang on to the lead in the relatively dry final laps.
But fourth place was still by far the best result for any of the drivers' championship contenders, and his pair of strong results meant that over the course of the weekend Wehrlein went from 27 points behind in the standings to leading the table by nine points.
Müller also stood his ground well as the track dried to take a second points finish of the weekend in seventh - which keeps him in the same place in the drivers' standings.
Customer racing
The Andretti team was again a strong contender for victory in both races, running close behind the works Porsches for much of the time.
Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich worked together to take third and fourth places in the Saturday races, continuing their good performance from Shanghai.
On Sunday, Drugovich took his maiden Formula E pole position, beating Taylor Barnard in the finals.
The Andretti pair were running third and fourth again in the first half of Sunday's race, but ultimately the same weather factors that worked against Wehrlein and Müller compromised the Andretti's pair's races.
While Dennis dropped to 13th, Drugovich was able to hang on to sixth place.
The Cupra Kiro team also showed frontrunning pace at times on a more difficult weekend.
Although their alternative strategy calls did not pay off overall, Dan Ticktum still put on a late charge to take 10th in race two, while team-mate Pepe Martí finished in 12th.
The pair finished 12th and 14th on Saturday, with Ticktum ahead of Martí.

Porsche's Shanghai results put it in an extremely strong position for the final stage of the championship showdown now.
Just two events remain on the calendar - the Tokyo night races on July 25-26 then the championship decider at London’s ExCeL Centre in mid-August.
