Birthday party by the racetrack.
With just 19 years, Bastian Buus was announced as Porsche Junior of the 2023 season – before he had finished his schooling, at that. Not the only record-breaking statistic of the good-humored Dane: In Febuary of the same year, he was crowned the youngest Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup winner. Buus' career began – as it has for many – on the karting track. Still, his father Morten needed to attempts until the fire lit for Bastian: At seven-years-old,
he visited the karting track for the first time; but back then he showed little enthusiasm due to the racing suits. Finally, two years later, he found his passion for the sport – and another five years later, he would go on to prove himself on the international stage. Always along for the ride: The Allied-Racing Team, which has been by his side sind his time in karting all the way to the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.
The young man from Nørre Bjert in Denmark is well-known in the team for his cheerful disposition and there is hardly a moment that better proves that, than his 18th birthday: On said day, Buus was in Monza for his eigth race of the 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. Before the race was due to start, the team surprised him with a birthday cake and the attempt to offer their birthday wishes in Danish – a great start to a day, that would end on a sad note. Today, Bastian Buus can laugh it off, ""On that day of all days, I made what is probably the biggest jump start in the history of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland."" The race ended on 19th spot for him, despite performing the fastest laps under pouring rain.
Driven by motorsport passion – off- and online.
Esports also has a firm place in the life of Bastian Buus: His first race as Porsche Junior was with the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team during the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans. There was not much need for practice there, as racing simulations had been something he enjoyed since he was six-years-old. It was even a virtual race in a simulator provided at a karting event, that earned him his spot in a cockpit for Allied-Racing.Simulators also have a permanent place in Buus' training and outside the racing season. Here, it helps him improve his reflexes and driving behavior when preparing for new tracks.
