Junior Driver Laurin Heinrich

Porsche Junior Driver 2022

Success with a late start.

Compared to his motorsport colleagues, Laurin Heinrich came quite late onto the racetrack: At 14, he found his way into motorsport. His father acted as his coach when he entered the grid of the Formula 4. But before Laurin's career could really kick off, money ran out. For the young man from Würzburg, Germany, this was a sobering setback, but he kept his focus.

A year after his unwanted break from motorsport, Laurin Heinrich got the chance as part of the talent pool to participate in the Porsche Sports Cup – and won. Doors were opened to him. After the Sports Cup, he went on to the Carrera Cup Germany, followed by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Both race series prepared him for the selection of the Porsche Junior 2022 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany of the same year. Beside the championship victory, Heinrich entered the next phase of his carreer as Porsche Junior.

Full-speed into the next phase.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany also saw Laurin Heinrich win and score the championship. Most defining factor of his victory is the fact that he had managed to gain the victory ahead of the final championship race. At 21-years-old, he managed to do what no other had done in the past seven years in Sachsenring. The rough start to his career has shaped Heinrich into a determined young driver, who is aware of his weaknesses and constantly works to change them. Throughout his time in the talent pool, he worked closely with his coach to expand his experiences. Now, Laurin Heinrich participates in various GT races. An incredible development for a race driver, who did not always walk the immediate path to success.
