Races have been held at Circuit Zandvoort since 1948, with Formula 1 being a regular guest at the dune circuit on the North Sea coast until the 1985 season. Following a break of almost 40 years, the Dutch Grand Prix was reinstated in the premier class of motorsport's calendar in 2021. The German Carrera Cup had already returned to the track near Amsterdam two years earlier. In 2024, Larry ten Voorde, the eventual champion, won both races for Proton Huber Competition. Today's 4.259-kilometre (2.664 miles) circuit presents drivers with unique challenges, including the two banked turns. Elsewhere, the drivers can barely see the course from the cockpit due to the crests and dips in the track. Additionally, the sea breeze often blows sand onto the track, creating unpredictable grip conditions.
