Pirelli

Porsche Carrera Cup North America Partner.

In 2002 Pirelli opened its first manufacturing plant in the United States in Rome, Georgia. The plant covers an area of 400,000 m2 and employs approximately 300 highly skilled workers and administrative personnel. Furthermore, Pirelli has offices in New York, Detroit and Atlanta, warehouses and a sales team in locations across the US.

Rome hosts one of Pirelli’s twelve Research and Development centers worldwide, working in synergy with the R&D headquarters in Milan. Leveraging the highly automated Modular Integrated Robotized System (MIRS), the facility specializes in the production of ultra-high-performance tires.

In 2021, the Rome facility became the first tire factory in the world to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) for sustainably sourced natural rubber and rayon, confirming benefits to biodiversity and local workers and communities.

Rome’s site is a strategic location for Pirelli, since a US presence allows the company to respond quickly and flexibly to customers with local production of high and ultra–high performance tires.

* All new vehicles offered by Porsche are type-approved according to WLTP. Official NEDC values derived from WLTP values are no longer available for new vehicles as of 1 January 2023 and can therefore not be provided.

Where values are indicated as ranges, they do not refer to a single, specific vehicle and are not part of the offered product range. They are only for the purposes of comparison between different vehicle tyrpes. Additional equipment and accessories (add-on parts, tyre formats etc.) can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. These factors, in addition to weather, traffic conditions and driving behaviour, can influence the fuel/electricity consumption, CO₂ emissions, range and performance values of a vehicle.

More information about the differences between WLTP and NEDC is available at www.porsche.com/wltp.
