Loni Unser is a professional racing driver carrying one of the most storied legacies in motorsports. A member of the legendary Unser family, whose involvement in racing dates back more than a century, Loni represents the next generation of a dynasty that has shaped American motorsport across disciplines. While racing runs deep in her family, her own path to the driver’s seat was far from traditional.
Loni spent much of her early life as a competitive skier growing up in Idaho and did not begin racing until age 19, when she discovered a deep connection to sports car driving. That moment sparked a focused commitment to motorsport, bringing an athlete’s discipline and adaptability to a career built without a childhood karting background.
In 2026, Loni competes in SRO GT4 America with Kellymoss, driving the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport alongside fellow Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Ashley Freiberg. The program represents an important step in her sports car career, combining top-level GT4 competition with one of the most successful Porsche teams in North America. She also continues to race the iconic Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, following directly in the footsteps of her family’s historic connection to the mountain and further developing her versatility as a driver.
Loni is a proud representative of Shift Up Now, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women in motorsport. Through advocacy, mentorship, and visibility, she is committed to encouraging young women to pursue careers in racing and the automotive industry. While honoring the Unser legacy, Loni is focused on writing her own chapter by racing with purpose, embracing growth, and helping expand access to the sport.
With long-term ambitions that include IMSA WeatherTech and the World Endurance Championship, Loni Unser continues to develop as a well-rounded competitor while proving that legacy is not about pressure, but about opportunity.
