Johnson and Farhang split wins in close Cup car battles.
The STG field brought intensity from the outset, beginning with Joel Johnson claiming pole in Friday’s single qualifying session. That pace translated directly into Race 1, where Johnson managed a strong start and quickly established control at the front.
Despite pressure from Russell Farhang, Johnson maintained a consistent gap, ultimately crossing the line five seconds clear to secure a flag-to-flag victory. Griffin Fujii completed the podium with a measured and composed drive in third.
Race 2 offered a shift in momentum at the front. Johnson and Farhang once again emerged as the class of the field, but this time the battle came down to the closing minutes. Using traffic to his advantage, Farhang made a decisive move for the lead with just three minutes remaining, securing the win after a hard-fought and respectful fight.
Johnson followed closely in second, while Tom Burke stepped onto the podium in third, while winner Farhang earned the Yokohama Apex’n Award for most overtakes.
Hare dominates with back-to-back victories.
In STC, consistency and control defined the weekend for Connor Hare. After qualifying second behind Peter Haabstad, Hare wasted no time asserting himself in Race 1, making a decisive pass in Turn 1 during the opening stages.
From there, he steadily built a commanding lead, eventually finishing nearly 17 seconds ahead of Haabstad. Doug Lawson rounded out the podium in third, as the class delivered some of its closest racing early before gaps formed.
Race 2 mirrored the first in both result and execution. Hare once again led the field with confidence, managing pace and traffic to secure a second victory of the weekend, this time by approximately ten seconds.
Haabstad and Lawson repeated their second and third place finishes, respectively, making the STC results identical across both races. Despite the consistency in finishing order, the racing remained clean and competitive, with Hare also earning the Yokohama Apex’n Award for most overtakes in class.
