Despite unseasonably cold and windy conditions, the opening weekend showcased exactly what Sprint Trophy PCA set out to offer – a premium, accessible entry point to Porsche One-Make racing at the grassroots level.
With more than 20 entries across the GT3 Cup and Cayman classes and over 50 cars sharing the run group, the paddock featured a strong mix of experienced Sprint Challenge and Carrera Cup drivers alongside new entrants to Porsche One-Make racing.
Practice and qualifying on Friday set the stage for two uninterrupted races on Saturday, both featuring entirely green flag racing, underscoring the clean, respectful competition that defines PCA Club Racing.
JDX Racing’s Siegal triumphs in competitive GT3 Cup class.
The GT3 Cup class delivered a polished and highly competitive showing throughout the weekend, with close battles at the front and disciplined racing across the field.
Drivers were further challenged by cold track temperatures and strong winds in Race 2, adding another layer to an already demanding Sebring circuit.
JDX Racing’s Matthew Siegal emerged as the standout performer, translating consistent pace and composure into victories in both races aboard his 911 GT3 Cup car (Type 992.1).
He was pushed throughout the weekend by 2025 Sprint Challenge North America Cayman Pro-Am Champion Jens Hantson in the #244 Speedsport entry, while Muzaffar Gafurov and Joel Johnson each claimed third-place finishes.
Connor Hare controls Cayman class with clean weekend sweep.
In the Cayman class, Connor Hare set the benchmark early and maintained control throughout the weekend.
His performance reflected strong preparation, race craft, and adaptability to the challenging Sebring conditions.
The Cayman field delivered close, clean racing in both races. Hare led the way in his #182 Autometrics 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, followed by Peter Haabestad in second and Tom Kerr in third for both races.
