A childhood dream within reach
Five years ago, Michael Fassbender took the first step toward fulfilling his childhood dream: competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and crossing the finish line. The YouTube series “Road to Le Mans” followed him every step of the way. Now, “Road to Le Mans: The Film” follows with the grand finale.
The time came in 2022: Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender had finally made it to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe after three years of hard work in various GT races. But the first setback came during Qualifying. After an accident, the Porsche 911 RSR had to be completely reconstructed before the race. Nevertheless, the Proton Competition team drove the race into the night. Then Fassbender was involved in an accident through no fault of his own. The no. 93 RSR crashed into the tire stacks and came to a stop. And Michael Fassbender? Is disappointed. Did some soul-searching. And took some time off from the racetrack.
But the childhood dream did not let the German-Irishman go. He reflected, learned from his previous experiences, and made a new attempt. The new goal: Le Mans 2023. What has been documented in the past four seasons of the “Road to Le Mans” series will now be crowned by a concluding movie that also records the events of the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023. “Road to Le Mans: The Film” will premiere on YouTube on November 17, 2023.
