The Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe will enter the 2027 season with a renewed sporting structure, an updated class format and an even more compact four-event calendar that further strengthens its position as the leading winter championship in Porsche customer racing. The series continues to combine competitive racing with extensive testing opportunities, allowing teams and drivers to prepare under optimal conditions for the upcoming summer season.
The championship will once again visit four of Southern Europe’s most renowned circuits. The season opens at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from 22 to 23 January, before moving to Estoril one week later, from 29 to 30 January. The action then shifts to Spain, with Barcelona hosting the third meeting from 13 to 14 February, before the season concludes in Valencia from 19 to 20 February. The even more compact back-to-back format remains one of the championship’s greatest strengths. With fewer days between consecutive race weekends, teams benefit from increased logistical efficiency while continuing to maximise valuable track time throughout the winter months.
As in previous seasons, every event will be organised according to the high standards associated with Porsche Motorsport. Competitors benefit from professional technical support, a comprehensive spare parts service and an enhanced track limits system with additional cameras, underlining the championship’s quality-first approach. All races will go live via the YouTube channel of the series.
Two divisions, tailored for every type of Porsche driver
For 2027, the championship sees the arrival of the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), while continuing to cater for the varying profiles of competitors through its two divisions. The objective is straightforward: creating optimal on-track conditions for all participants while maintaining the competitive spirit that has characterised the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe since its inception.
The Sport Division is designed for drivers pursuing a professional or semi-professional career and consists of three classes: PRO, PRO-AM and ROOKIE.
The PRO category is reserved for Silver-rated drivers and competitors active at Porsche Carrera Cup or Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup level. The ROOKIE class is intended for drivers aged 24 or younger who have participated in no more than four Porsche 911 GT3 Cup races, while the PRO-AM category welcomes ambitious gentleman drivers aged 25 and over who have not competed as PRO drivers in Porsche Carrera Cup or Porsche Supercup during the previous three seasons.
The Sport Division will continue to feature standing starts, with ABS permitted while traction control remains disabled, providing the ideal environment for drivers preparing for higher levels of the Porsche One-Make Series ecosystem.
Alongside it, the Club Division has been created for gentleman drivers and experienced enthusiasts. Competitors will race in either the Gen 1 class for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992.1) or the Gen 2 class for the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2). Rolling starts, combined with ABS and traction control, create an accessible yet highly competitive racing environment.
Should at least four full-season GT4 entries be registered, the championship will also introduce a dedicated GT4 class with its own podium and championship classification. Eligible cars include the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and the new Porsche 911 GT4 R.
