ZONHOVEN (28 August 2026) – A new Porsche customer racing platform: in the 2027 season, the motorsport-experienced company Prospeed, based in Zonhoven, Belgium, will organise the new Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany across five race weekends. Races are planned on current and former Grand Prix circuits in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Austria.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany is created through the merger of the former Porsche Sports Cup Germany and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux. It will feature both 30-minute sprint races and, optionally, a one-hour endurance race. Participation is open to a wide range of Porsche customer racing cars: the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2) and its predecessor models, Porsche GT4 models of all generations, as well as the new Porsche 911 Challenge.
The standard concept of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany stands out for its compact format. Ahead of the race weekends, organiser Prospeed plans test and track days for road and race cars in cooperation with Curbstone Events. On Fridays, two 30-minute free practice sessions are scheduled, followed by qualifying held in three 15-minute segments. The third qualifying session is reserved exclusively for participants of the one-hour endurance race. On Saturday, two 30-minute sprint races will be held, along with an endurance race of over one hour. The endurance race will include a mandatory pit stop, allowing for a driver change as well.
Five events on current or former Formula 1 circuits are planned for the 2027 season. The calendar plans feature the Nürburgring and the Hockenheimring in Germany, the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria), the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes, and the Circuit Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast. Most events will take place as part of the established ADAC Racing Weekend event package. Further details and the final calendar are expected in the coming weeks.
All events will be broadcast via live stream, allowing the action to be followed worldwide. For competitors, team members, partners, and guests, the series will offer dedicated hospitality with premium catering at every race weekend, serving as a central meeting point in the paddock.
Prospeed has been an established name in international motorsport for 20 years, not only through participation at major endurance classics such as Spa and Le Mans, but also as promoter for numerous series and events, always with the Porsche brand at its core. This year, Prospeed organises five series: the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, and the Porsche Rally Trophy Benelux.
