Alexander Reimann defends lead during DTM weekend at the North Sea
Home drivers want to shine in the Dutch dunes
Zonhoven, 21 May 2026 - Two weeks after the brilliant start to the season at Spa-Francorchamps, the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux heads to an equally iconic circuit: Circuit Zandvoort, located in the dunes on the Dutch North Sea. Benelux's fastest make-cup will once again run two 30-minute, one-lap races there during the DTM weekend. One thing is already certain: the intense battle from the Belgian Ardennes will have a sequel at the North Sea.
During the opening weekend in Spa-Francorchamps, guest driver Alex Hardt (A-workx by KATANA Tools) and Alexander Reimann (Quanloop EST1 Racing) could call themselves the first winners of the season, in front of more than 100 000 spectators. Reimann travels to Zandvoort as championship leader, with fifty points behind his name. That makes him ten points more than outgoing champion Jaap van Lagen (Team RaceArt), who took the podium twice in Spa.
However, Van Lagen knows Circuit Zandvoort like no other and will undoubtedly go for victory in front of his own crowd. Behind the top two are Frank Porté Ruiz (NGT Racing, 29 points), Hjelte Höffner (MDM Motorsport, 25 points), Tio Ellinas (Quanloop EST1 Racing, 24 points) and Milan Marczak (Ajith - RedAnt Racing, 20 points). Marczak and Porté Ruiz, last season's top two rookies, in particular, are looking to confirm against the established names.
Home drivers Mees Muller (PG Motorsport), Karol Kret (JW Raceservice) and Jan Seyffert (MDM Motorsport) will also be looking to take revenge after a more difficult opening weekend in Spa-Francorchamps.
Battle among the rookies particularly exciting
In the rookie classification, Henry Wheeler (A-workx by KATANA Tools) and David Dziwok (Team GP Elite) share the lead with 41 points each. Belgian hope Arthur Peters (Team RaceArt) follows in third with 33 points, two more than his teammate Joep Breedveld. Dino van der Geest completes the top five with 24 points in Team GP Elite colours.
In front of their own crowd, Dutchmen Breedveld, Van der Geest, Jesse Polderdijk (Ajith - RedAnt Racing) and Joep Muller (PG Motorsport) are obviously looking to shine. Jakub Twarog (JW Raceservice) and Ali Aljuffali (Quanloop EST1 Racing) will also continue their trajectory within the Porsche Talent Pool at Zandvoort.
In PRO-AM, Jani Käkelä (39 Racing) defends his leading position, while Quanloop EST1 Racing descends on the Netherlands with 74 points as leader in the team championship. Team RaceArt follows with 49 points, ahead of MDM Motorsport with 41 points.
The action starts on Friday with two free practice sessions of 40 minutes each, at 13:05 and 18:45 respectively. On Saturday, qualifying is scheduled between 10h20 and 10h55, while the first race starts at 17h45. The second race follows on Sunday at 10h20. Both races will last 30 minutes and one lap.
