  • Marczak and Van Lagen battle for the overall title, while the Rookie and Team championships are also yet to be decided

Zonhoven, 15 October 2026. The wait is over… On Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux competitors will battle it out to determine who will be crowned champion and who will secure a place on the final podium. All that remains are two intense 30-minute-plus-one-lap sprint races on the spectacular ‘old-school’ Circuit Zolder. Just after midday on Sunday, the curtain will fall on an exceptionally exciting 2026 season.

Who will succeed Jaap van Lagen as overall champion and Milan Marczak as the reigning Rookie champion? The answer will be revealed during the ultimate weekend of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux season, following a year of top-level motorsport action.

The battle for the overall title is a straight fight between last season’s two champions. The fastest rookie of 2025, Milan Marczak (Ajith – Redant Racing), heads to Circuit Zolder as the championship leader with 197 points, having claimed four victories among other strong results. That gives him a 24-point advantage over last year’s overall champion, Jaap van Lagen, racing in the colours of Team RaceArt. Van Lagen is the only driver who can still challenge Marczak for the title, but the experienced Dutchman is not yet guaranteed second place in the final standings. While Alexander Reimann (Quanloop EST1 Racing) can no longer become champion, he remains in contention for second place in the Benelux’s premier one-make championship. A total of 51 points are still up for grabs at Circuit Zolder.

The battle for the remaining podium positions also promises to be particularly interesting, with Hjelte Hoffner (MDM Motorsport), Joep Muller (Muller Racing by JW), David Dziwok (Team GP Elite), Paul Meijer (Quanloop EST1 Racing) and Joep Breedveld (Team RaceArt) among those in contention.

Rookies on a knife-edge

Among the drivers targeting a place in the top ten of the overall standings are several rookies, who will also be fighting for the honours in the Rookie championship.

David Dziwok leads the standings after ten races with 177 points, holding a narrow two-point advantage over his closest rival, Joep Breedveld (175). However, Joep Muller (159), Henry Wheeler ([a-workx] by KATANA Tools – 154) and home favourite Arthur Peters (Team RaceArt – 131) are all still mathematically in contention for the title. Peters will undoubtedly be eager to deliver a strong performance in front of his home crowd.

Last but not least, the Team championship remains wide open, with Quanloop EST1 Racing (262), Team RaceArt (244) and Ajith – Redant Racing (208) set to battle it out for the 2026 crown.

Jani Käkelä (39 Racing) has already secured the PRO-AM title earlier this season.

Looking ahead to 2027

Promoter Prospeed is already working hard on preparations for the 2027 season, and the 2026 finale will also welcome several new faces to the grid. Mauro Polderman will make his debut with Ajith – Redant Racing, while Leon Van Verseveld will do the same with JW Raceservice. Wouter Manderveld will also make his debut as a rookie, representing Mama’s Nightmare by NGT.

Also worth noting is the return of Felix Neuhofer, who will once again compete in the colours of [a-workx] by KATANA Tools.

Races on Saturday and Sunday

Free practice sessions are scheduled for Friday 16 October, with a 30-minute session at 9:50 and a 50-minute session at 15:15. On Saturday 17 October, qualifying will take place at 11:05, followed by thefirst race at 16:05. The second race is scheduled for Sunday at 11:05.

As always, both races will be streamed live on the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux YouTube channel.
