With the motorsport calendar entering its final stages, here’s a preview of Porsche activities in October.

It’s crunch time for many championships in October, with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship hosting its deciding round.

The iconic Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta will round off a thrilling season, taking place on October 12.

Porsche leads both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships, and is fiercely pursuing four titles into the closing round of the year: The GTP and GTD Pro drivers’ titles, and both teams’ and manufacturers' championships.

The DTM also hosts its finale in October at Germany’s Hockenheimring, while in Esports, the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Contender Series continues.

Here’s a full preview of all the Porsche motorsport activities taking place in October:

IMSA: Petit Le Mans

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship hosts its season finale in October, with Petit Le Mans on October 12.

The endurance spectacle has been one of IMSA’s crown jewels for the last decade, and Porsche will be hoping to secure both event and quadruple-title victory at this year’s edition.

With 12 corners across 4.088km (2.540 miles), the teams will face the final battle of this year’s championship at the 10-hour event. Porsche has won at Petit Le Mans once, in 2015.

Heading into the final round, Porsche leads both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, with the #7 car of Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr topping the drivers’ standings. They have 2630 points heading into the season finale.

After finishing third at the Battle on the Bricks, the #6 car of Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy is now 14 points behind the sister #7 entry on 2616.

There are 390 points on offer at the Petit Le Mans this month, so there is plenty left at stake.

In the manufacturers’ championship, Porsche holds a 124-point lead heading to Road Atlanta.

Esports: Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Contender Series

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Contender Series continues in October.

The six-round competition serves as a feeder series, where the top performing drivers earn a place in next season’s Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup.

The first two rounds took place in September at Algarve International Circuit and Okayama International Circuit. Elvis Rankin won the opening round.

The next four rounds all take place in October at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Circuit Zolder, the Sachsenring and Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Three of the four races, with the exception of Circuit Zolder, will be streamed on the Porsche Twitch channel, and you can already add a reminder to your calendar for the races via Twitch.

DTM: Hockenheimring

The DTM also hosts its final round this month, taking place at Germany’s landmark Hockenheimring from October 18-20.

At almost 100 years old, the storied circuit has played host to many international series, including hosting Formula 1’s German Grand Prix from 1970 to 2019. It underwent an extensive redesign in 2002 to its current layout, a 4.574 km (2.842 miles), 17-turn track.

DTM has raced at the Baden-Württemberg circuit since 2000, with reigning champion Thomas Preining taking victory in both races last year for Manthey EMA.
