Jaap van Lagen (Team RaceArt) and Milan Marczak (Ajith – RedAnt Racing) take the victories in the north of the Netherlands, while David Dziwok (Team GP Elite) shines among the rookies
Strong comeback from Paul Meijer (Quanloop EST1 Racing) and impressive debut by Boudewijn Kuster (JW Raceservice)
Assen, 3 August 2026. The fourth meeting of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux deliveredexcitement and spectacular racing while also providing a clearer picture of the championshipbattles. With just two meetings, or four races, remaining, the title contenders now know exactlywhere they stand. Victories at TT Circuit Assen went to Jaap van Lagen and Milan Marczak, while David Dziwok stamped his authority on the Rookie category once again with his third andfourth class victories of the season. However, there was much more to talk about following an exciting summer weekend of Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux action.
Qualifying, particularly crucial on the fast and technical Assen circuit, immediately produced the weekend's first surprise. Guest driver Boudewijn Kuster steered his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – to pole position for both races, making an instant statement on his debut. “I'm very happy with these starting positions, but the races themselves will be a different story,” Kuster said after his impressive qualifying performance. Joep Muller (PG Motorsport) was the fastest Rookie, while Jani Käkelä (39 Racing) claimed the PRO-AM pole position.
The opening 30-minute-plus-one-lap race belonged to Jaap van Lagen, who made full use of his experience. The reigning champion got away brilliantly at the start and controlled the race despite a late scare. “A technical issue towards the end of the race made things very difficult for me. Nevertheless, I managed to hold on to the win and score important points,” said the Team RaceArt driver.
On his return to the championship, Paul Meijer secured an excellent second place in the final classification, ahead of Milan Marczak and debutant Boudewijn Kuster. Frank Porté Ruiz completed the top five for NGT Racing.
The Rookie battle was equally exciting, highlighted by an impressive recovery drive from David Dziwok, who climbed from fourth to first in class. The young Pole also took over the lead in the Rookie championship. Joep Breedveld (Team RaceArt), Joep Muller and Arthur Peters (Team RaceArt) completed the Rookie podium, while Jani Käkelä took victory in PRO-AM ahead of Levent Türkmen (MDM Motorsport).
Marczak takes the championship lead, Käkelä secures the PRO-AM title
Sunday's second race was every bit as intense as expected. Kuster made a stronger start than he had on Saturday, but following a Safety Car period he was overtaken by Milan Marczak and Paul Meijer. Nevertheless, the Dutchman finished an impressive third on his debut weekend. Victory went to Polish-Dutch driver Milan Marczak, with Paul Meijer finishing second.
Hjelte Hoffner (MDM Motorsport) and Alexander Reimann (Quanloop EST1 Racing) completed the top five, ahead of Jaap van Lagen.
In the championship standings, Marczak leaves Assen with 152 points, five ahead of Van Lagen on 147. Alexander Reimann remains the closest challenger in third place with 122 points heading into the final two race weekends.
The Rookie category once again produced spectacular action, with Dziwok charging from the back of the grid to seventh overall and another class victory. “David is a real talent, and he proved that once again this weekend,” Team GP Elite commented. Thanks to his double Rookie win, Dziwok also takes over the Rookie championship lead with 152 points, ahead of Breedveld (146) and Muller (118).
In PRO-AM, Levent Türkmen claimed victory ahead of Jani Käkelä. That second-place finish was enough for the Finn to secure his second PRO-AM title in three seasons. Quanloop EST1 Racing continues to lead the Teams' Championship after Assen.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux now heads to Hockenheim on 11, 12 and 13 September for the penultimate meeting of the 2026 season.
