Carrera Cup Deutschland

The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland heads to one of the most legendary circuits on the calendar from 15 to 17 May: rounds five and six of the season will take place at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps as part of the International GT Open. The traditional track in the Belgian Ardennes presents the drivers with not only one of the most demanding circuits of the season, but also unpredictable weather conditions. Both races will be broadcast live on the Porsche Motorsport Hub as well as on the German one-make cup’s Facebook and YouTube channels. In addition, the races can be watched live on Joyn, the streaming platform of TV partner ProSieben.

The South African Keagan Masters (Proton Competition) travels to Belgium at the top of the overall standings following an impressive run of form. The 26-year-old has finished on the podium in every race so far this season, although he is still waiting for his first victory. Behind him in the standings are Alexander Tauscher (Target) in second place and Theo Oeverhaus (ID Racing) in third.

The two Porsche Juniors also attracted attention recently: Marcus Amand (Proton Competition), who competes under the Finnish flag, celebrated his first win of the season at the Red Bull Ring, before Dutchman Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT) secured his first win one day later. Both drivers are aiming to build on these successes in Spa with their 520 hp Porsche 911 Cup cars and continue to close the gap in the title fight.

The battle in the class standings is also shaping up to be exciting: Montego Maassen (Forch Racing by Atlas Ward) from Nordenstadt in the German state of Hesse currently leads the rookie classification, while Sören Spreng (D/GP Elite) heads the ProAm category.

The race weekend begins on Friday with a one-hour free practice session from 12:40 to 13:40 (CEST). Saturday starts with a split qualifying session lasting a total of 35 minutes from 10:20 to 10:55 (CEST), before the fifth race of the season gets underway in the afternoon from 14:10 to 14:45 (CEST). Sunday’s race is scheduled from 11:25 to 12:00 (CEST).

At 7.004 kilometres, Spa-Francorchamps is the longest circuit on the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland calendar and winds its way through the rolling landscape of the Ardennes. Legendary sections such as Eau Rouge and Raidillon define the character of the circuit and make Spa a true classic on the international motorsport calendar.
