From 14 to 16 August, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland heads to the Nürburgring. Races 13 and 14 of the season will be contested on the Eifel circuit’s sprint layout as part of the DTM weekend. South African Keagan Masters (Proton Competition) travels to the seventh race weekend of the year as the leader of the overall standings. Both races will be streamed live on the Porsche Motorsport Hub as well as on the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland Facebook and YouTube channels. TV partner ProSieben will also broadcast the races on its Joyn streaming platform.
After a break of around five weeks, the title fight in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland enters the home stretch. With the Nürburgring and the season finale at the Hockenheimring still to come, only four races remain. This makes every point crucial in the fight for the championship.
The races will be held on the 3.629-kilometre Nürburgring sprint circuit. The traditional track combines eleven corners with fast changes of direction and several demanding braking zones. Precision and a well-balanced vehicle setup are key on the Eifel circuit. At the same time, the varying corner radii offer numerous opportunities for close wheel-to-wheel battles.
The title fight remains wide open: Keagan Masters arrives at the Nürburgring leading the standings with 197 points. Porsche Junior Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT) from the Netherlands follows with 183 points. Germany’s Theo Oeverhaus (ID Racing) sits third on 175 points and also remains firmly in contention for the title.
The battles in the individual classes also remain wide open. Rookie leader Sam Jongejan (Team75 Bernhard) from the Netherlands will be looking to extend his advantage. In the ProAm classification, Michael Essmann (D/Team75 Bernhard) is on top of the standings. Proton Competition leads the team classification with 308 points, ahead of Schumacher CLRT on 249.
Away from the title battle, attention also turns to the Talent Pool. At the Nürburgring, four young drivers from the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland will have the opportunity to experience the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland at close quarters. Joel Hohmann from Germany, Denmark’s Mads K. Ljungberg, Ragnar Simuland from Estonia and Poland’s Nikodem Sobczyk will accompany the Talent Pool drivers throughout the race weekend. They will gain insights into professional racing operations and learn what a potential next step in their motorsport careers could look like.
The race weekend gets underway on Friday with free practice from 10:15 to 11:15. Qualifying follows from 15:10 to 15:45. Race 13 starts on Saturday at 11:18, with the 14th race of the season scheduled for Sunday at 11:08.
The two races at the Nürburgring mark the start of the decisive phase of the season. Every point could make the difference in the battle for the title. With the demanding sprint circuit and the leading contenders separated by only small margins, the seventh race weekend of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland promises another exciting display of motorsport.
