Carrera Cup Deutschland

The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland travels to the Norisring from 3 to 5 July. As part of the DTM support programme, races eleven and twelve of the season will be contested on the tradition-steeped street circuit in Nuremberg. Germany’s Theo Oeverhaus (ID Racing) arrives at the sixth round of the season as the championship leader. Both races will be streamed live on the Porsche Motorsport Hub as well as on the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland Facebook and YouTube channels. Broadcast partner ProSieben will also show the races on its streaming platform Joyn.

The Norisring enjoys cult status among drivers and is known as the “Franconian Monaco” for good reason. At the wheel of their 520 hp Porsche 911 Cup cars, the competitors face a unique challenge on the only street circuit on the calendar. Measuring just 2.162 kilometres, the track features only four corners, close concrete barriers and heavy braking zones. Mistakes are usually punished immediately. At the same time, the layout provides the ideal setting for thrilling wheel-to-wheel battles and spectacular overtaking manoeuvres.

Following the sweltering weekend at the Dekra Lausitzring, the title fight is closer than ever. Theo Oeverhaus leads the overall standings with 158 points, closely followed by South Africa’s Keagan Masters (Proton Competition), who closed the gap to just one point after claiming two victories in Brandenburg. Alexander Tauscher (D/Target) sits third on 150 points, while Porsche Junior Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT) from the Netherlands occupies fourth place with 142 points. For Tauscher, the visit to Nuremberg also marks the shortest journey of his season, with his hometown located around 150 kilometres from the Norisring.

The battle remains equally intense in the junior and class standings. Talent Pool driver Sam Jongejan (Team75 Bernhard) from the Netherlands arrives in Nuremberg as the Rookie classification leader, while Germany’s Sören Spreng (GP Elite) heads the ProAm standings.

The race weekend begins on Friday with a one-hour free practice session from 10:15 to 11:15 (CEST). Qualifying follows in the afternoon from 15:10 to 15:48 (CEST). Race eleven gets underway on Saturday at 11:23 (CEST), before race twelve starts on Sunday at 11:28 (CEST).

Few circuits on the calendar demand as much precision from the drivers as the Norisring. Alongside the concrete walls, every centimetre can make the difference between victory and defeat. The combination of top speeds on the start-finish straight, tight hairpins and minimal run-off areas promises intense battles and spectacular racing during the sixth round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.
