Porsche has clinched the drivers' title in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the #6 crew of Kévin Estre, André Lotterer and Laurens Vanthoor crowned world champions.
The Porsche Penske Motorsport team secured the drivers' title at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, with the #5 Porsche 963 finishing in third and the #6 car in 11th.
It is the first title for the team, which joined the WEC’s top class for the 2023 season.
The titles come after Porsche secured victory on both sides of the Atlantic in the top classes Hypercar (WEC) and GTP (USA), with the team winning the IMSA drivers' and manufacturers' titles.
Hertz Team Jota had already secured the FIA World Cup for private hypercar teams before the finale.
Manthey PureRxcing won the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGT3 teams at the penultimate round of the season in Fuji, Japan, with the title in the drivers' championship going to Alex Malykhin, Klaus Bachler and Joel Sturm.
