Now the season is well underway, here’s a preview of Porsche Motorsport’s activities in April.

The busiest time of the year is now well in swing, with all the key championships hosting rounds in April.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship kicks things off with its Long Beach thriller on April 12, the same day as Formula E heads to sunny Miami.

The following weekend, the World Endurance Championship competes in the 6 Hours of Imola, before the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup by iRacing rounds off another brilliant season of Esports racing.

Last but not least, the DTM gets its season underway at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from April 25-27.

With so much in store, here’s a full preview of all the Porsche Motorsport activities taking place in April:

WEC: 6 Hours of Imola

Making its much-awaited return after a month away, the FIA World Endurance Championship heads to Italy on April 20 for the 6 Hours of Imola.

Having moved to Emilia Romagna from Monza last season, the WEC returns to the iconic Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari on Easter Sunday for another thrilling race.

With 4.9km of track and 21 turns, this historic track proved a highlight of the calendar last season.

After a difficult start to the season in Qatar, Porsche Penske Motorsport is set to fight back at the second round as the action hots up.

The #5 Porsche 963, shared by Julien Andlauer, Michael Christensen and Mathieu Jaminet, finished in the points in Qatar, while the #6 car driven by Matt Campbell, Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor narrowly missed out.

Both cars finished on the podium at last year’s visit to Emilia Romagna, with the #6 car taking second place despite difficult weather conditions ahead of the #7 entry, and the team will be hoping for another strong result this time.

IMSA: Grand Prix of Long Beach

Having won both of the first two rounds of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Porsche Penske Motorsport team will be gunning for three-in-a-row at the Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 12.

The #7 car shared by Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy and Laurens Vanthoor took incredible wins at both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, securing Tandy the prestigious Triple Crown achievement and making him the first driver to win the 24-hour races at Le Mans, the Nürburgring, Spa and Daytona.

The #6 entry, driven by Matt Campbell, Kévin Estre and Mathieu Jaminet, finished third at Daytona before following it up with a runner-up finish at Sebring.

Both factory cars will now be aiming for another strong finish in California - this time over just 100 minutes of racing. Taking place on the 3.167 km (1.968 mi) circuit in downtown Long Beach, the race is one of the championship’s most prestigious and long-running events.

The #7 car finished in third-place last year, with the sister entry in fourth.

Sitting first and second in the drivers’ championship after two rounds, the team will be determined to hold the lead as the season gets well underway.

Formula E: Miami E-Prix

The Miami E-Prix returns to the Formula E calendar for the 2024-25 season, this time at an all-new location: the Homestead–Miami Speedway.

Having previously raced at the Biscayne Bay Street Circuit in 2015, this time the championship will take to the speedway’s road course for a stellar new event.

It marks the fifth round of the 2024-25 calendar, with the series returning to action after a two month break following its last outing in Jeddah, a double-header in February.

António Félix da Costa currently sits third in the drivers’ standings, with team-mate and 2023-24 champion Pascal Wehrlein in eighth. The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team sits third in the teams’ championship, just four points behind the leaders.

After Miami, the championship returns to Europe for its Monaco double-header, followed by two races each in Tokyo and Shanghai.

From there, it heads to Jakarta, before two races in Berlin ahead of the hotly anticipated season finale in London on July 26-27.

Esports: Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup by iRacing and R1

The seventh running of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup by iRacing reaches its climax in April, with 30 of the fastest sim racers all competing for a share of the $200,000 prize pot.

Red Bull Sim Racing driver Cooper Webster, who came fourth last year, is leading the drivers’ championship after five rounds.

Porsche Coanda Esports Racing driver Jordan Caruso is hot on his heels in second, with fellow Porsche driver Mitchell deJong in third.

Hot on their heels are other recognisable names including Kevin Nielsen, Alejandro Sánchez and 2020 and 2024 champion Sebastian Job.

There are now just two rounds remaining in this year’s championship: Fuji Speedway on April 5, before the season finale on the Circuit de 24 Heures du Mans a week later.

R1 also kicks off in April, with the first round on March 28 at Spa before the teams’ championship heads to Monza, Hockenheim, Fuji and Jeddah in April.

A total of 12 teams will compete in the event, with at least four drivers each. The Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team line-up comprises of Dayne Warren, Jordan Caruso, Joshua Rogers and Charlie Collins, with Mitchell deJong and Elvis Rankin as reserve drivers.

The first three events are seeding rounds, with drivers taking part in knockout races with a final each day.

The next four rounds are the group rounds, which are double-headers, before a finale of the best nine teams taking place later in the spring.

DTM: Motorsport Arena Oschersleben

The 2025 DTM season kicks off on April 26-27, with the season getting underway at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Saxony-Anhalt.

Its eight-round calendar continues through the summer, culminating in the season-finale at the Hockenheimring from October 4-5.

Manthey Racing will continue its involvement in the DTM, having fielded two entries last year with drivers Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Güven.

The pair, continuing for 2025, put in some impressive performances in a hotly contested season, with Preining’s win from pole at the Lausitzring being a highlight of the campaign which saw him finish fifth overall.

The team will also field a third entry this season, driven by Porsche driver Morris Schuring for his maiden DTM campaign.

The 20-year old's 911 GT3 R will be entered in a striking orange-black design under the name Manthey Junior Team.
