Porsche wins 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Manufacturers’ title before crossing the finish line of the 10 hours race Petit Le Mans at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Porsche Penske Motorsport has provisionally won the IMSA GTP drivers’ and teams’ championships, as well as Porsche sealing the manufacturers’ title, during the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta.

Introduced for the 2023 season, these are the first major championships won by the Porsche 963 prototype which competes in the GTP class in IMSA and the Hypercar class in the World Endurance Championship, where it is still in championship contention too as it leads heading into the Bahrain finale.

By starting the last IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race of the season at Road Atlanta, and as long as both cars are classified in the final results without any post-race technical issues, they will score a minimum of 220 points each.

The Petit Le Mans is underway now, and will decide which of Porsche Penske Motorsport’s cars will win the drivers’ and teams’ titles. The #7 car, driven by Matt Campbell, Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr, leads the championship by 133 points after qualifying second for the Petit Le Mans, while the #6 - driven by Kevin Estre, Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy - is second and started the Petit Le Mans in eighth.

Estre and Campbell are joining the teams for select endurance races this year so are not in contention to win the drivers' championship, but have a key role to play in helping their team-mates.

Where values are indicated as ranges, they do not refer to a single, specific vehicle and are not part of the offered product range. They are only for the purposes of comparison between different vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories (add-on parts, tyre formats etc.) can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. These factors, in addition to weather, traffic conditions and driving behaviour, can influence the fuel/electricity consumption, CO₂ emissions, range and performance values of a vehicle.
