Classifications
The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup consists of several sporting classifications as well as a dedicated driver development programme. The following provides an overview of all categories, conditions, and structures.
Only Permanent Drivers who take part in at least six Series classification rounds during the season will be included in any of the final Championship Standings for all Classifications.
Overall Classification
The Overall Classification is the Series classification for all Drivers of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
Pro-Am Classification
The ProAm Classification is a separate classification for Drivers without a professional motor racing background.
The minimum age to enter the ProAm Classification is 35 years (the Driver must be at least 35 by the closing date for the submission of entries in the respective year). Participation is based on the sporting résumé of a Driver and requires written (electronically signed) approval of the Series Organiser.
For the classification to be contested, a minimum of 5 Drivers must have permanently entered the ProAm Classification. The maximum number of Drivers to participate in the ProAm Classification is limited to 8. The slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis (based upon date of receipt of fully and correctly completed applications).
Rookie Classification
The Rookie Classification is a separate classification for Drivers participating in their first full season in the Series who have participated in no more than 5 races of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in previous years.
Any Driver who has permanently entered the Series in any previous year, regardless of the number of classification rounds in which they actually participated, may not register as a Rookie Driver for the current season.
Any Porsche Junior Driver may not register as a Rookie Driver for the current season.
The maximum age for participation in the Rookie Classification is 25 years (the Driver must not have reached their 26th birthday by the closing date for the submission of entries in the respective year).
Final Championship Classification
All race results count toward the Championship standings after the last event, with no results being voided. To be classified in the final standings, drivers must participate in a minimum of six races. The winner of each classification is the registered driver who achieves the highest total points score across all relevant rounds. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Champion is the driver with the highest overall points score for the season.
Team Classification
The Team Classification is independent of the Driver Classification. Team points are awarded based on the final race classification, regardless of classification categories, and are calculated by adding the points scored by two cars entered under the same Competitor licence.
If more than two cars are entered under one Competitor licence, the Competitor must nominate in writing two eligible Drivers (Permanent or Non‑Permanent) to score Team points for each event before the end of administrative checks. If no nomination is made, the two Drivers with the lowest competition numbers will be nominated automatically by the Series Organiser, and no other cars from that Competitor will be considered for the Team Classification.
When a Non‑Permanent Driver is nominated, the points achieved in the final race classification will count towards the Team Classification, subject to the relevant regulations. Results achieved by Guest Drivers are not eligible to score Team points.
For the purpose of allocating Team points, any eligible Driver classified behind non‑eligible Permanent Drivers, non‑eligible Non‑Permanent Drivers, or Guest Drivers will be moved up accordingly in the race results.
Prizes money and Prizes in kind
Prize money is paid by the Series Organiser exclusively to Competitors and is awarded per race based on official Overall and ProAm results.
Permanent Drivers must compete in at least six races to remain eligible for prize money. Non‑Permanent Drivers and Guest Drivers entered in the Series may receive prize money. Additional prize money is awarded based on final Team and Rookie Championship results.
The winner of the Rookie Classification will additionally receive a monetary prize. This additional prize money will only be paid out to the Competitor that enters this Driver in the following season of the Series and if the Driver is classified in that season’s final Overall Classification.
The Series Organiser may also award prizes in kind and trophies for the Championship, Rookie Programme, pole positions, and Mechanic of the Year, both per event and at season end.
In addition to the championship title, the series champion receives a special prize in kind.
The complete prize structure, payment conditions, and eligibility criteria are defined in the official regulations.
