The Talent Pool Championship
The 2026 season welcomes a development of the successful Young Driver Development Programme, first introduced in 2015. Supporting young racing talent, the programme for young talented drivers includes a number of key benefits in addition to a substantial financial end of season reward.
The Rookie Programme will now be known as the ‘Talent Pool Programme’, and it is open to eligible Porsche Carrera Cup GB newcomers in the Professional, and Professional-Amateur categories. Since its introduction in 2015, the Talent Pool championship has employed its own separate points table. Alongside challenging for the title of top Talent, eligible newcomers can continue to compete in any of the three core championship categories: Pro, Pro-Am and Masters.
The reward on offer to Talent Pool competitors is available in addition to those received during participation in the core categories. At the end of the season, the prize fund for the Talent Pool category is a generous £12,000.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB Talent Pool Programme takes elements of the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain Junior Programme, and is designed to aid the career progression of talented young drivers as they make their way up the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid. In addition to mitigating the challenge of financial barriers, the programme takes a more integrated approach to supporting young drivers.
In association with tyre partner, Michelin, the Talent Pool Programme provides 12 slick Michelin tyres, and delivers a Michelin Tyre Masterclass. The unique Masterclass focuses on technical training from Michelin experts, helping drivers to achieve peak tyre performance. The Porsche Carrera Cup GB Technical Team are also on hand throughout the season to offer data support, aiding the driving performance of competitors, and helping to explain the intricate dynamics of the 911 GT3 Cup.
Completing the package of support at the track is a programme held at the Porsche Human Performance Centre. A team of experts at the state-of-the-art Silverstone facility provide tailored guidance and training on all aspects of physical and mental preparation. This includes advice on diet in relation to training and reaction times. Eligible drivers will also benefit from media training sessions, while a bespoke Porsche team kit will mark them out in the paddock.
In order to take part in this programme, drivers must be under 25 years of age on 1 March 2026. In addition, drivers should not have competed in any Porsche Carrera Cup championship for more than two rounds, or in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Competitors can enter any of the three categories: Pro, Pro-Am or Am, they must register and take part in all races during the 2026 season to be eligible for the Talen Pool Programme benefits.
The delivery of this programme will be subject to the relevant regulations and best practices.
