Porsche Penske Motorsport has run an Apple Music livery at the IMSA Grand Prix of Long Beach, continuing the partnership with the US tech giant.

For the third round of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, both factory cars sported a white, black, pink and red colour scheme.

The partnership between Apple Music and Porsche dates back to 2019, when built-in Apple Music was introduced in the Porsche Taycan.

While carrying the special colours, the #6 car of Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor scored their third successive podium.

The team finished one-two at the opening two rounds at Daytona and Sebring, and the #7 car driven by Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr has retained its championship lead.

The livery

The special livery was the second of 2026, after both cars sported a distinctive Mobil 1 colour scheme at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

For the Long Beach race, the Apple Music livery adorned both cars, with the #6 car featuring a white rear wing, rear view mirrors, windscreen and fin, while the #7 car had black detailing.

Porsche and Apple Music have maintained a close partnership in the automotive sector since 2019.

With the launch of the Porsche Taycan, the German manufacturer became the first to offer Apple Music built-in, delivering a fully integrated music streaming experience.

Through the Porsche Advanced Cockpit, customers enjoy seamless access – free for six months – to a catalogue of over 100 million tracks.

The race

Porsche’s factory squad headed into round three at Long Beach as the championship leader in IMSA.

The iconic temporary street circuit near Los Angeles has proven to be a strong venue for Porsche Penske Motorsport: the Porsche 963 claimed its maiden race victory there in 2023, followed by another triumph at the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2025.

Continuing its strong run at the street circuit, Estre and Vanthoor took their third podium in a row, while the #7 car also scored a strong points haul.

Porsche Penske Motorsport leads the teams’ standings, while Porsche also leads the constructors’ championship.

The event attracts over 200,000 spectators annually. Alongside IMSA, the IndyCar Series also raced in Long Beach, with Porsche partner Team Penske fielding three entries.

The 3.167-kilometre street circuit features eleven corners and is often considered the American counterpart to Monaco’s legendary Formula 1 Grand Prix track.

The Long Beach Street Course runs clockwise around the Convention Center and includes several distinctive features: a curved start/finish straight along the Pacific shoreline, a tight right-hand hairpin at the end of the lap, and the historic “Queen Mary” ocean liner as a backdrop.

The 100-minute sprint race, together with the Detroit Grand Prix in May, represents the shortest rounds of the season.

The next round of the 2026 IMSA season takes place on May 3 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
