Porsche has revealed details of the 2027 Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB season, which will see the debut of the 515 PS 911 Challenge, and the championship’s maiden appearance racing in support of the World Endurance Championship. The significant evolution for the single-marque GT racing championship follows the completion of more than 100 races across eight consecutive seasons, with driver progression extending all the way to the international stage.
Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB welcomes the 515 PS 911 Challenge to the grid in 2027. The latest addition to the Porsche Motorsport family combines the DNA of the current 911 GT3 with that of a racing car. Thanks to production-based technology, comprehensive safety features, and motorsport-ready driving dynamics systems, the 911 Challenge provides a gateway to competitive racing, while creating opportunities for professional racers to push their capabilities further. And the structure for operating and spare parts costs has been developed specifically for this purpose. Underlining the new car’s racing credentials is a powerful 515 PS 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, and a suspension and braking system shared with the new 911 Cup. Meanwhile the aerodynamics are shared with the production-based GT3, with a seven-speed PDK gearbox, and the steering wheel from the GT3 RS with enhanced racing-specific functions, and air-conditioning. Alongside come adjustable driver assistance systems, including ABS, traction control and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), making it easier to get started in motorsport. Partner Michelin has also developed unique slick and grooved wet weather tyres for the new one-make racing car.
The championship has appeared exclusively as part of the TOCA package, racing in support of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), for four consecutive seasons. For 2027 it continues with this high profile position, benefiting from live terrestrial television coverage on ITV. In addition, Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB will debut in support of the prestigious World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Silverstone, as it returns to the UK for first time since 2019. The weekend will see the championship join forces with Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB for two exciting races, with both championships competing on the same grid.
In 2026 the championship began to play a more significant role in supporting young racing talent, and that continues for 2027. It aims to attract the most promising young drivers to Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB, and foster their development as they become well-rounded racing drivers in all areas – both on and off the track.
A full calendar of 17 races will take place across six weekends in 2027. The season will start at Silverstone with its maiden appearance alongside the WEC, and its first ever races on the full Grand Prix circuit. Further championship rounds will take place in support of the BTCC at storied circuits across England, including Brands Hatch and Oulton Park. On four occasions, Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB and Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB will unite creating a packed Porsche presence.

Exceptional championship prizes
Drivers will continue to compete in categories designed to give racers at every stage of their career a platform to succeed, from novices to those seeking to ignite a professional motorsport journey. These driver categories will be confirmed closer to
the start of the 2027 season, and will feature alongside a Teams championship, and a championship for Talent Pool participants. As in previous seasons, extremely generous cash prizes will see the overall Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB champion alone win £10,000, part of a total championship prize fund value of more than £75,000.
Talent Pool Programme The Talent Pool Programme proved exceptionally popular in 2026, and it continues to evolve for 2027. It provides eligible newcomers with a two-day pre-season Training Camp. Held at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, the Camp is conducted by Porsche Human Performance experts, with a focus on fitness and nutrition.
In addition, sessions with the Porsche Motorsport GB Technical Team, media training specialists, and Michelin tyre experts, assist with driver development in those key areas. A follow-up event, with an opportunity to learn further insights, will take place later in the season. Participants also receive bespoke Talent Pool Programme clothing and vehicle branding, helping them to stand-out in the busy Porsche paddock. Finally, a cash prize or an attractive discount is offered on the following season’s Entry Fee for the highest placed Talent Pool driver.
Those looking for a flavour of the championship, with the opportunity to drive the new 911 Challenge, meet the Porsche organisational team, and the teams who compete in the championship, are invited to the annual Porsche Motorsport GB Taster Day in November 2026.
