The second season of Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB, the entry-level virtual championship created in partnership with Motorsport UK Esports, came to its exciting conclusion in October 2024. This week six champions gathered at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone to enjoy their prize of a thrilling real-world driving experience in the road-going Porsche 911, 718 Boxster and Cayman.

Reflecting Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Sprint Challenge GB, the community-based sim racing championship sees drivers competing in either the Pro or Amateur category. Those taking on the challenge of a Pro campaign drive the 911 GT3 Cup, Am contenders compete in a virtual recreation of the Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR. Between September and October 2024 racers made stops at a digital Donington Park, simulated Snetterton and Silverstone, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch over 10 Rounds.

Matt Caruana clinched Pro category glory, with Jack Jeffries second and Will Eatwell in third overall. Aiden Carter took Am category honours, with Michael Pierce finishing second in the standings, and Alistair Pollock taking third. The top three in both categories won a driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, providing a flavour of Porsche, and allowing all six drivers to see if their sim racing skills could translate to real life.

As part of their day drivers took to the Porsche test track at Silverstone. It incorporates a variety of track configurations and surface conditions, including the Handling Circuit, Kick Plate, Ice Hill, and Low Friction circuits on which the potential of Porsche cars can be explored. The winners also gained insight from Porsche Human Performance experts, learning the importance of fitness in motorsport.

In addition, a three-course lunch was provided at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, and there was an opportunity to meet with representatives from Motorsport UK Esports. Finally, a prize-giving ceremony saw all six drivers handed physical trophies – a rarity in the word of Esports – as a unique reminder of their achievements. Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB will return for a third season later this year.

* Data determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) as required by law. For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.

Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO2 values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO2 values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO2 emissions of a car.
