Porsche showcases milestone 2027 Carwow Carrera Cup GB season

Porsche has previewed its plans for the 2027 Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB season, which include the arrival of a new car, and an exciting return to the World Endurance Championship package. The fastest single-marque GT racing championship in the UK enters its milestone 25th season in 2027, continuing to occupy a respected position in British motorsport. In the past it has furthered the careers of superstars including Nick Tandy, Harry King, and Dan Harper. Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB welcomes the 520 PS 911 Cup to the grid in 2027. The new car features enhanced performance, with a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, aerodynamic tweaks, a comprehensively upgraded braking system, optimised electronic components, cockpit features, and stability systems. Drivers will compete in three distinct categories, Professional, Professional-Amateur, and the Masters category.

The championship has run as part of the TOCA package in support of the British Touring Car Championship since its inception in 2003, and that will continue in 2027 for 14 races, with live terrestrial television coverage on ITV. In addition, Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB will race in support of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Silverstone, as it returns to the UK for first time since 2019 – when Carrera Cup GB appeared as part of the package. The weekend will see the championship join forces with Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB for two exciting races, with both championships competing on the largest combined Porsche grid ever seen in the UK.

The championship continues to play a vital role in fostering young racing talent. Callum Voisin (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) continues as Porsche Cars GB Junior driver for 2027, Voisin is already a race winner in 2026, and is currently fighting for overall championship honours in his maiden season. In addition, the

Talent Pool Programme, a development of the successful Young Driver Development Programme, will continue to support hungry young newcomers as it further evolves.

The 2027 season will see Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB continue with a familiar race format. The qualifying and reverse grid system remains at events where Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB appear on the same weekend. On standalone race weekends, the reverse grid format is removed, with two 15-minute qualifying sessions taking place. The result of Qualifying One determines the starting grid for Race One, and Qualifying Two decides the starting grid for Race Two.

A full calendar of 16 races will take place across eight weekends in 2027. For the fifth consecutive year, the season will begin at Donington Park in April with TOCA, joining the WEC package later that month, and returning to race alongside the BTCC for later rounds at some of the most challenging circuits in England. The season will culminate with its traditional visit to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in October. On four occasions, Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB will unite creating a bumper Porsche presence.

Exceptional championship prizes

The championships for drivers in the Pro, Pro-Am and Masters categories will be calculated on a similar basis as 2026, with championships for Teams and Talent Pool participants running alongside. An extremely generous prize pot remains, with a total value of nearly a quarter of a million pounds. The 2027 Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB Pro category champion alone will win £25,000. Champions in Pro and Pro-Am will continue to receive the use of a Porsche 911 road car for one year, while the Masters champion will receive the use of a 911 GT3 Touring. Once more, Teams category champions will receive the use of a Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe.

Talent Pool Programme The Talent Pool Programme proved exceptionally popular in 2026, and it continues to evolve for 2027. A development of the Young Driver Development Programme for Rookie drivers as introduced in 2015, the revised Programme provides eligible newcomers in the Pro and Pro-Am categories, with a two-day pre-season Training Camp. Held at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, the Camp is conducted by Porsche Human Performance experts, with a focus on fitness and nutrition.

In addition, sessions with the Porsche Motorsport GB Technical Team, and media training experts, assist with driver development in those key areas. A follow-up event, with an opportunity to learn further insights, will take place later in the season. Participants also receive bespoke Talent Pool Programme clothing and vehicle branding, helping them to stand-out in the busy Porsche paddock. Finally, an attractive discount is offered on the following season’s Entry Fee for the highest placed Talent Pool driver. Those looking for a flavour of the championship, with the opportunity to drive the new 911 Cup, meet the Porsche organisational team, and the teams who compete in the championship, are invited to the annual Porsche Motorsport GB Taster Day in November 2026.
