Sprint Challenge GB

Porsche Motorsport GB has shared details of the 2026 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season, at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone.

The single-marque GT racing championship for the Porsche mid-engined coupe enters its seventh consecutive season in 2026, with a number of revisions set to further amplify its popularity with drivers at every stage of their racing career.

Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will continue with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport racing alongside the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. An evolution of its familiar format, will see drivers competing for glory in three distinct categories. The RS Professional and RS Amateur categories, for those racing the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, continues, while drivers racing the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport will compete in a streamlined championship, challenging for a single, overall crown.

Appearing in support of the British Touring Car Championship, Sprint Challenge GB has become a popular addition to the TOCA package, and enters its fourth consecutive season racing exclusively alongside one of the most prestigious touring car series in the world. With free terrestrial television coverage, broadcast to a vast audience on ITV, the championship will continue to enjoy a high profile position in British motorsport.

New for 2026, the championship will begin to play a more important role in supporting young racing talent. The Talent Pool Programme for Rookie drivers is an evolution of the successful Young Driver Development Programme, seen in Porsche Carrera Cup GB since 2015. It aims to attracting the most promising young drivers to Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, supporting their development as racing drivers in all areas – both on and off the track.

A full calendar of 18 races will take place across six weekends in 2026. The season will start at Donington Park, with later rounds taking place at some of the most celebrated circuits in Great Britain, including Oulton Park and Silverstone. In 2025, the championship made its debut at Knockhill, and following that success, it will return to Scotland in 2026. On four occasions, Porsche Sprint Challenge GB and Carrera Cup GB will unite creating a packed Porsche presence.

Exceptional championship prizes

Drivers competing in the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will battle in the RS Pro or RS Am categories on the same basis as 2025, with a Teams championship adding further intrigue. Meanwhile, those racing the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, will now fight in one unified championship for drivers, alongside an individual championship for Teams. Rookies will contest their own standalone championship. Generous cash prizes totalling £20,000 will see the overall Porsche Sprint Challenge GB champion alone win £10,000, part of a total championship prize fund value of more than £75,000.

Talent Pool Programme

Porsche introduced its Young Driver Development Programme for Rookie drivers to Carrera Cup GB in 2015. For 2026, the programme is extended to Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, revised to bring it into line with the wider Porsche Motorsport family, and the Porsche Motorsport pyramid. Eligible newcomers receive a two-day pre-season Training Camp, to be held at Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, conducted by Porsche Human Performance experts, with a focus on fitness and nutrition.

A Michelin Tyre Masterclass, and data training sessions with the Porsche Motorsport GB Technical Team, will provide further tailored in-season support, helping to explain the intricate dynamics of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Participants will also benefit from one-to-one media training sessions. And, participants will also receive bespoke Talent Pool Programme clothing and vehicle branding, helping them to stand-out in the busy Porsche paddock.

Those looking for a taste of the championship, with the opportunity to drive the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, meet the Porsche organisational team, and the teams who compete in the championship, will be invited to the annual Porsche Motorsport GB Taster Day in November 2025.
