Rogers and Marshall continue championship battle at Croft
Joshua Rogers (Team Parker Racing) took two overall wins at Croft, while championship leader Joe Marshall (Team Parker Racing) from Cheshire claimed one. The two title protagonists topped three exciting races in North Yorkshire, with noteworthy overall podium results for Dan Zelos (Graves Motorsport) from Norfolk, Matthew Kyle-Henney (Clean Racing) from Hampshire, and Samuel Harvey (Xentek Motorsport) from Sutton Coldfield.
In the RS Am category, there were three wins for Daniel Lewis (Race Car Consultants) from Essex as he dominated over his rivals. And it was a similar story in Clubsport, as Gabe Fairbrother (Graves Motorsport) from Chester further extended his championship advantage by driving to three impressive category wins.
Rogers and Marshall share glory in RS Pro
Rogers took pole position for Rounds 10 and 11, with Marshall alongside for both races. Rogers led at the start of the weekend’s first race with Marshall tucking in behind, but an issue for the race leader soon allowed Marshall to get ahead. Marshall and Rogers pulled clear of the chasing Kyle-Henney, and halfway through the race Rogers mounted an attack to retake the lead. Marshall defended the inside line from Rogers at the Hairpin, but there was side-to-side contact with the order remaining the same.
Rogers tried again with three minutes left on the clock – this time he executed a decisive switchback at the Hairpin, getting to the inside of Marshall to take first. However, Rogers soon slowed with a repeat of his earlier issue, tumbling down the order before continuing his race. Marshall took the chequered flag first for his seventh win of the season, with Kyle-Henney finishing in second place and Harvey completing the overall podium. Rogers came home in thirteenth position overall. Following the race, Harvey was demoted two places for gaining an unfair advantage while passing Ethan Hammerton (Graves Motorsport) from North Yorkshire. This promoted Zelos to the maiden podium result of his Porsche racing career.
Rogers was overtaken by Marshall in the run to the first corner during the weekend’s second encounter, with Kyle-Henney chasing in third. In the early stages of the race Rogers closed on Marshall, while Harvey dived to the inside of Hammerton at the Hairpin to snatch fourth. With eight minutes of the race remaining, leader Marshall received a five-second time penalty for track limits, relegating him down the order on corrected time. And a further five-second time penalty for Marshall added to his woes, leaving Rogers as the effective race leader.
In the closing stages of the race Zelos pressed Hammerton for fifth on the road, with Felix Livesey (Xentek Motorsport) from Preston in Lancashire in close proximity. Marshall took the chequered flag first on the road, but with his time penalty applied, Rogers claimed victory on corrected time. Kyle-Henney advanced to second place, while Harvey completed the overall podium picture. Championship leader Marshall was classified in fourth.
The final race of the weekend took place on Sunday in dry conditions following earlier rain. Rogers led Kyle-Henney at the start of Round 12 with Harvey slotting into third. However, Harvey got to the inside of Kyle-Henney at the Hairpin at the end of the opening lap, snatching second place. With 13 minutes left on the clock, Marshall drove to the inside of Kyle-Henney at Tower where there was contact between the pair – Marshall continued in third while Kyle-Henney retired to the pit lane with damage.
In the second half of the race, Lydia Walmsley (Clean Racing) from Suffolk came under attack from RS Am category racer Lewis for seventh overall, while Zelos closed on Hammerton for fourth. And in the final laps, several drivers received time penalties for exceeding track limits, but it did not impact the order of the top three. Rogers took his second win of the weekend, with Harvey finishing in second overall and Marshall taking third.
Lewis tops RS Am
Dean Burden (Toro Verde GT) from Lincolnshire was the fastest RS Am category driver in qualifying, and he would start Round 10 ahead of his rivals, while Lewis would begin Round 11 top in the category. Burden maintained his category advantage at the start of Round 10, with Reece Somerfield (Breakell Racing) from Walsall in the West Midlands in second, and Lewis in third. Lewis soon closed on Somerfield, snatching second place before setting after Burden. With 10 minutes of the race remaining, Lewis overtook Burden at the Hairpin for the RS Am lead. Aimee Watts (Clean Racing) from Kent suffered an early exit at Tower, but there would be no further changes to the positions. Lewis took his third category win of 2026, with Burden and Somerfield joining him on the RS Am podium.
Lewis led Burden and Matthew Briars (Toro Verde GT) from Kent at the start of Round 11. A close battle developed between RS Pro category racer Christopher Bingham (Raceworks Motorsport) from Nottinghamshire, and RS Am drivers Briers and James Seale (Xentek Motorsport) from Hampshire, with Seale grabbing third in the category scrap. In the closing stages of the race, Burden fell backwards following contact with Bingham. When the flag fell, it was Lewis who took claimed victory, with Seale finishing in second and Burden crossing the line in third.
Lewis led Seale and Burden at the start of Round 12. A battle soon developed between Richard Hosking (CCK Motorsport) from Gloucestershire, Watts and Somerfield, with the latter eventually overtaking Watts at the Hairpin to lead the trio. Seale closed on Lewis in the second half of the race, as the latter looked for a way ahead of RS Pro category driver, Walmsley. With six minutes to go, an opportunity appeared, with Seale getting through. But in the dying moments of the race, Seale received a five-second time penalty for exceeding track limits, and after the race he was demoted one finishing position for an incident with Lewis. Lewis claimed victory with Seale in second and Burden in third.
Fairbrother wins three times in Clubsport
Fairbrother was quickest in the Clubsport category during qualifying, and he would start ahead for Rounds 10 and 11. Fairbrother and Gracie Mitchell (Graves Motorsport) from Teesside led the Clubsport cars at the start of weekend’s first race. There was drama between Giancarlo Romano (Tuthill UK) from Glasgow, and Alister Weston (Xentek Motorsport) from Kent as they made contact early on, this left Romano limping back to the pits as Weston continued his race. Fairbrother, Mitchell and Weston drove to the first Clubsport podium at Croft.
The second race was partly a repeat of the first, with Fairbrother leading Mitchell from lights to flag, with Romano completing the Clubsport category for Round 11. Round 12 on Sunday afternoon was another familiar affair, with Fairbrother heading Mitchell while Romano occupied third in the category order. However, in the latter part of the race Weston closed on Romano as they were lapped by faster cars, yet he could not find a way through. Fairbrother, Mitchell and Romano formed the weekend’s final Clubsport podium.
