Willam Chadwick crowned champion at dramatic Esports final.
The Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB season reached its exciting conclusion at a virtual Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. William Chadwick from Greater Manchester, Charlie Collins from Monmouthshire, and Sebastian Job from East Grinstead in Surrey entered the finale as championship contenders, with Chadwick emerging triumphant after two action-packed races.
Collins won the penultimate race of the season with Chadwick finishing second, putting Job out of contention. Remy Gilbert from Buckinghamshire took the final race of 2026, with Chadwick finishing second, and Collins ending his season in the barriers. It was an equally tight fight in the Am category, with wins for Scott Moakes from Bedfordshire, and Kieran Harding from Norfolk. However, Guy R Edwards from Surrey did enough to be crowned as category champion.
Collins and Gilbert win in Pro The three championship contenders occupied the top three spots on the grid in qualifying – separated by just 0.052 seconds. Collins took pole position with Job starting alongside, and Chadwick leading the second row. The order stayed the same at the start of the race, but Job soon slid back into the pack at the exit of Druids, continuing in seventh. Collins now led Chadwick from Berryman.
Job began his recovery drive, passing Jamie Fluke from Leicestershire, then Gilbert, and finally, Leo Gariboli from Hertfordshire, to sit in fourth. And that is how the order remained to the flag, with Collins taking his sixth win of the season, joined by Chadwick and Berryman on the first virtual podium of the evening. With his result of fourth spot in Round 15, Job was now out of the championship hunt, making it a two driver race for championship glory between Collins and Chadwick.
Matt J Caruana from Berkshire started from reverse grid pole position in the final race of 2026, conducted in wet weather conditions. At the start Gilbert hit the front of the pack, leading Fluke and with Caruana relegated to third place. In the early stages of the race, championship hopeful Chadwick was running in fifth, with title rival Collins in seventh, and both drivers soon advanced one place each. With 20 minutes of racing remaining, Collins passed Job for fifth, while Chadwick overtook Caruana for third. However, Job soon fought back, moving up the order by getting back ahead of Collins.
There was championship drama when Collins slipped back to tenth, improving Chadwick’s chances of glory, but even when Chadwick advanced to second by passing Fluke, he would still potentially lose the title based on his results across the season. However, in the final minutes of racing, Collins battled Caruana and there was contact between them, with Collins ending his championship chances in the barriers. Gilbert won the race, Chadwick came home in second – enough to secure the title – with Fluke finishing in third.
Following the race, for an incident between Matt J Caruana and Charlie Collins, five seconds was added to Caruana’s race time. A total of 12 seconds was added to the race time of Collins for incidents with Caruana. While Leo Brown and Aidan Walsingham each incurred two second penalties for incidents with one another.
Moakes and Harding take Am Harding was the fastest Am category driver in qualifying, but Moakes snatched the category lead early into the penultimate race of the year, with Harding in second and Edwards in third. Category championship hopeful Christian Szaruta from London soon left the circuit, hampering his chances of glory. Edwards took the chequered flag first, with Szaruta in second, and Moakes completing the Am category podium.
At the start of Round 16 Harding led Edwards, with Gordon Marshall from Port Glasgow running in third. Moakes left the circuit in slippery wet conditions. Marshall soon advanced to second, relegating Edwards to third in the category order. When Moakes and Szaruta made contact on the Grand Prix section, Szaruta left the circuit.
In the closing stages of the race, the Am title battle was still finely balanced, with Marshall now leaving the circuit and Szaruta moving up to third place as a result. The final order at the flag was Harding, Moakes, and Szaruta, but with his result of a fourth place finish in the category, Edwards had done enough to be crowned as Am champion.
Following the final weekend of the championship, the winners can look forward to receiving their trophies at the annual Porsche Night of Motorsport, held at the end of the year.
