Porsche Motorsport GB has revealed its plans for the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season, at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone.
The fastest single-marque GT racing championship in the UK is set to enter its 24th consecutive season, evolving a successful format that has seen it earn a respected position in British motorsport, across more than 400 races.
Next year, Porsche Carrera Cup GB will continue with the 510 hp 911 GT3 Cup introduced in 2022. Three distinct categories include Professional, Professional-Amateur, and the new Masters category, formerly known as the Amateur category, with Masters drivers permitted to use an ABS braking system. This ensures close and exciting racing, and a high level of recognition for the very best drivers. The championship has run as part of the TOCA package in support of the British Touring Car Championship since its inaugural season in 2003, and that will continue for 2026, with live terrestrial television coverage on ITV.
The championship will also continue to play an important role in supporting young racing talent, in particular with the arrival of a new Junior driver for 2026 / 2027 – set to be announced at the Porsche Night of Motorsport in November 2025. A development of its successful Young Driver Development Programme for Rookie newcomers, the Talent Pool Programme, also assists hungry young newcomers. For the first time, this initiative is extended to Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.
The 2026 season welcomes changes to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB race format. The familiar qualifying and reverse grid format remains at events where Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Sprint Challenge GB appear on the same roster. On standalone Carrera Cup GB race weekends, the reverse grid format is removed, and two 15-minute qualifying sessions will take place. The result of Qualifying One will determine the starting grid for Race One, Qualifying Two will decide the starting grid for Race Two.
A full calendar of 16 races will take place across eight weekends in 2026. For the fourth consecutive year, the championship will begin at Donington Park in April, with later rounds taking place at some of Great Britain’s most historic circuits. The season will culminate at the storied Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in October. On four occasions, Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Sprint Challenge GB will unite creating a packed Porsche presence.

Exceptional championship prizes
Alongside the championships for drivers in the Pro, Pro-Am and Masters categories, a Teams championship, and a championship for Rookies, will be calculated on a similar basis as 2025. The championship prize pot remains extremely generous, with a total value of nearly a quarter of a million pounds, the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Pro category champion alone will win £25,000. Champions in Pro and Pro-Am will continue to receive the use of a Porsche 911 road car for one year, while the Masters champion will receive the use of a 911 GT3 Touring (subject to conditions). Teams category champions will receive the use of a Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe.
Talent Pool Programme
The Young Driver Development Programme for Rookie drivers, first introduced in 2015, is revised for 2026, bringing it into line with the wider Porsche Motorsport family, and the Porsche Motorsport pyramid. Eligible Porsche Carrera Cup GB newcomers in the Pro, and Pro-Am categories, receive a two-day pre-season Training Camp, to be held at Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, conducted by Porsche Human Performance experts, with a focus on fitness and nutrition.
A Michelin Tyre Masterclass, and data training sessions with the Porsche Motorsport GB Technical Team, will provide further tailored in-season support, helping to explain the intricate dynamics of the 911 GT3 Cup. Participants will also benefit from one-to-one media training sessions. And, participants will also receive bespoke Talent Pool Programme clothing and vehicle branding, helping them to stand-out in the busy Porsche paddock. Finally, an attractive discount will be offered on the following season’s Entry Fee for the highest placed Talent Pool driver.
Those looking for a taste of the championship, with the opportunity to drive the 911 GT3 Cup, meet the Porsche organisational team, and the teams who compete in the championship, will be invited to the annual Porsche Motorsport GB Taster Day in November 2025.
