Callum Voisin takes two wins at Brands Hatch
Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB 2026 / 2027 Junior, Callum Voisin (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) from Bath drove to two victories at Brands Hatch in Kent. The Junior driver mastered the shorter Indy circuit to overtake pole-sitter William Jenkins (Team Parker Racing) from Stafford in Round Three, and charge to victory. Following his maiden pole position for Round Four, Voisin completed a lights-to-flag victory in the weekend’s second race.
On the weekend that the championship debuted a new qualifying format, with two separate 15-minute qualifying sessions, there were also Pro-Am category wins for Stephen Jelley (XQS Team Parker Racing) from Leicester, and Jacob Tofts (Graves Motorsport) from Essex. In Masters, Carl Cavers (Century Motorsport) from Nottingham, and Michael Keohane (Century Motorsport) from County Cork, Ireland, took to the top step of the category podium.
Voisin wins both races in Pro
The championship debuted a new qualifying format at Brands Hatch, with the first 15-minute session setting the grid for the opening race of the weekend, and the following session dictating the grid for the second race. Jenkins drove to pole position in Saturday’s first qualifying session, and at the start of the race on Sunday he got away cleanly to lead into the first corner. Starting second on the grid, Voisin slipped back to fourth as Jelley passed him, while Max Coates (Graves Motorsport) from North Yorkshire adopted third.
The Safety Car was scrambled when Isaac Phelps (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) from Hertfordshire made contact with Jonathan Moore (JTR) from South Yorkshire, leaving Moore’s car stranded in the gravel trap. At the restart, Jenkins pulled clear while Voisin passed Coates for third, and Sid Smith (Graves Motorsport) from Essex attempted to follow him through, but he was denied. Voisin gained a position again when he overtook Jelley in the run to Graham Hill Bend for second. Voisin soon closed in on Jenkins, forcing the leader to defend, but the Junior dived to the inside at Paddock Hill Bend to snatch the race lead, leaving Jenkins, Jelley and Coates in his wake. Coates, Jack Sherwood (Team Parker Racing) from Leicestershire, Smith, Archie Clark (XQS Team Parker Racing) from Leicestershire, and Phelps engaged in a close fight. Sherwood pulled off a move to pass Coates for fourth, and Smith followed him through for fifth.
In the closing stages Smith and Phelps incurred five second penalties for track limits, but at the front of the race, Voisin had built an impressive seven second gap, taking the chequered flag to secure the second victory of his Porsche racing career. He was joined on the overall podium by Jenkins and Pro-Am category racer Jelley. Following the race, for his move on Coates, Sherwood was demoted one place, reversing their finishing positions in the revised results.
Voisin took his maiden pole position in the second qualifying session of the weekend, and started Round Four alongside Jenkins. It marked the first time since 2017 that the second race of the weekend did not feature a reverse grid. Voisin got away well at the start, leading through the first corner, while Pro-Am’s Tofts overtook Jenkins for second. Smith rose from tenth on the grid, passing Oliver Jackson (JTR) from Surrey for fourth in the early stages of the race. On lap eight, Voisin received a five-second penalty for a false start, but he already had a 2.3 second gap back to Tofts in second, and so he set his sights on building a larger cushion to retain the lead on corrected time.
On lap 14, Smith continued his charge, passing Jenkins for third at Paddock Hill. And there was further excitement when Sherwood engaged in a close fight with Phelps in their dice for seventh, and soon they were joined by Jelley – the trio swapped places more than once. With Voisin now six seconds clear of Tofts, he had effectively cancelled out his pending five second time penalty, however the race leader soon faced a new challenger, as Smith passed Tofts for second place, Smith’s move started at the first corner and ended at Graham Hill Bend.
In the final laps of the race, Sherwood and Coates each received a five second penalty for track limits. Despite this, Sherwood attacked Coates, gaining fourth on the road. However, when the chequered flag fell, Voisin took his second win of the day, with Smith finishing in second – up from tenth on the grid, and with Tofts joining them on the overall podium.
Jelley and Tofts take Pro-Am glory
Jelley was the fastest Pro-Am category driver in the first qualifying session, and he got off to a great start in Round Three, taking second overall in the early stages of the race, with Moore in second and Jackson in third. When Moore ended his race in the gravel trap following contact with Phelps, Oliver Meadows (Team Parker Racing) from Warwickshire moved into the final Pro-Am podium spot, and the Safety Car neutralised the action. When the race restarted, Tofts advanced to third in the category battle, and he began to close on Jackson. In the final laps of the race, Tofts searched for a route through, but he could not gain an overlap on his rival. Jelley took the flag first, and he was joined on the Pro-Am category podium by Jackson and Tofts.
Tofts was the pace-setting Pro-Am in the second qualifying session at Brands Hatch, and he started from third overall in the second race of the weekend. Tofts accelerated into second place overall at the start, leading Pro-Am category rivals Jackson and Jelley. Jelley closed on Jackson in the second half of the race, but he could not find a way through for second in the category. Tofts slipped to third overall when Pro category racer Smith passed him in the latter stages of the race, but he retained the Pro-Am lead to the flag, with Jackson and Jelley completing the category podium.
Cavers and Keohane win in Masters
Keohane set the Masters pace in both qualifying sessions and would start ahead of category rival Cavers in Rounds Three and Four. Keohane came to a halt before the first corner in the weekend’s opening race, where he made his retirement. Cavers made a pit stop at the end of the opening lap, and later rejoined the action to take category victory. Keohane maintained his advantage at the start of Round Four, and throughout the race, enjoying a maiden category victory, with Cavers coming home in second.
