McKeown and Job win at Oulton Park as wet weather returns to Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB.
Reading, Great Britain. Luke McKeown from Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex and Sebastian Job from East Grinstead in Surrey triumphed at Oulton Park as Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB saw dynamic wet conditions for only the second time in championship history. A rare error from Job in the opening race allowed McKeown to get ahead, however Job recovered in Round Eight with a confident win.
The 2.2 mile circuit in Cheshire delivered plenty of action with close and exciting racing in both categories. Guy R Edwards from Staines-upon-Thames in Surrey emerged as the Am winner in both races, becoming the first driver in either category to take two wins in a single weekend during 2025. Meanwhile Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing’s Job extended his championship lead at the top of the Pro category standings to 18 points.
McKeown and Job are repeat winners in Pro Peter Berryman from Corby in Northamptonshire qualified on pole in wet weather with a time of 1:27.660, he would start ahead of Job and McKeown for the first race of the weekend. The slippery conditions prevailed for Round Seven, Job got away well at the start to snatch the lead at Old Hall Corner, Berryman was relegated to second with McKeown maintaining third. With the first few laps complete, McKeown moved up to second and closed on leader Job, Berryman slipped backwards into the hands of William Chadwick from Wrightington in Wigan.
With less than 15 minutes of the race remaining Job came under increasing pressure from McKeown, at the same time Berryman dropped Chadwick to close on the leading pair. A rare error from Job soon saw him slide out of Hislop’s, this allowed McKeown to take first place while delaying Berryman. McKeown now led Leo Gariboli from Hemel Hempstead and Chadwick, Job continued his race from sixth place. A recovering Job soon overtook Dylan Platt from Bolton in Greater Manchester for fifth.
In the closing stages of the race Chadwick attacked Gariboli for second and Berryman gained to make it a three car fight. McKeown took the checkered flag for his second win of the season, followed home by Gariboli and Chadwick, however the latter would incur a time penalty promoting Berryman to the final Pro category podium place. With the top eight finishers from Race One reversed for Race Two, on the second consecutive occasion, real-world racer Charles Rainford would start from reverse grid pole position.
In challenging wet conditions Rainford was passed at the start of Round Eight by Luke Pennington from Bideford in Devon, and as Rainford went wide at the first corner Platt was able to snatch second, Job moved up from fourth on the grid to third. At the hairpin Chadwick and McKeown ran into trouble as the concertina effect closed the pack. At the front Pennington accelerated away with Plat defending second from the chasing Job and Berryman.
With 19 minutes left on the clock Chadwick moved to the inside of Berryman at Druids but there was contact sending Berryman off the circuit. At the same time leader Pennington suffered his own spin leaving Platt to adopt the lead of the race from Job and Chadwick. Job quickly pressured Platt who mustered an impressive defence, this created a four car battle for victory between Platt, Job, Chadwick and Gariboli. With a dry line emerging on the track Job finally found a way through at the hairpin with eight minutes remaining.
As Job drove away in the lead Platt came under fire from Chadwick, Gariboli and Issac Price from Telford in Shropshire. With five minutes to go Gariboli grabbed third from Chadwick at Island Bend, Price then attacked Chadwick for fourth but their squabble left the order unchanged. At the flag Job recorded his third win of the season, Platt enjoyed his best Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB result in second. Gariboli crossed the line in third, however Price would later be promoted to the position following a post-race penalty for Gariboli.

Despite the difficult slippery conditions Edwards maintained his advantage throughout the race with Szaruta sitting in second, however, with just three minutes of the race remaining Walsingham suffered half spin at the hairpin. The incident allowed Daniel Cofield from Doncaster in South Yorkshire to take the final Am category podium spot before the flag.
Edwards led the Am racers again at the start of the weekend’s second race, Cofield was second with Tom Stevens from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire running third. By the midpoint of the race the category order was unchanged, but in the closing stages a close fight for fourth emerged as Walsingham put Moakes under pressure, however the order remained static.
