Silverstone weekend sends championship battles down to the wire.

Andrew Rackstraw (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport), from Cape Town raced to victory in an action-packed opening Porsche Carrera Cup GB race at Silverstone. Rookie Sebastian Hopkins (Team Parker Racing) from Chichester in Hampshire drove to the second win of his Porsche racing career in Round 14. With his results from Silverstone, Rackstraw now leads the championship heading into the final weekend.

Meanwhile, Oliver White (Eden Motorsport) from Bath took two further Pro-Am victories to extend his category championship advantage. And, Jonathon Beeson (Duckhams Yuasa Racing by Graves Motorsport) from Crewe overtook rival Carl Cavers (Century Motorsport) from Nottingham for the Am category win in Round 13. And Beeson won again in Round 14. The Pro-Am and Am championships will also be decided at the season finale.

Rackstraw and Hopkins win in Pro Will Martin (Eden Motorsport), from Hastings in East Sussex, emerged as the fastest driver in qualifying, taking the eleventh pole position of his Porsche racing career. At the start of the weekend’s first race, Martin immediately dived across to cover Rackstraw at Copse where there was contact, but Rackstraw emerged ahead. The pair continued to trade paint throughout the opening lap. On the second lap, Gamble attacked Angus Whiteside (Century Motorsport) from Guildford in Surrey to take third, and soon advanced to second with a move on Martin. On lap five, Martin suffered a spin, relegating him down the order, and this left the race order as Rackstraw leading Gamble, with RAFA Racing Club Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2024 / 2025 Junior James Wallis (JTR) moving up to third.

Wallis soon came under pressure from Whiteside in their scrap for third - the pair ran together along the Wellington Straight, with Wallis forced to defend on the inside line. On lap 20, Wallis locked his wheels and lost speed, allowing Whiteside to overtake. In the closing stages of the race, a recovering Martin was able to pass Wallis for sixth. At the flag, Rackstraw took victory, and he was joined on the first podium of the day by George Gamble (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) from Nottingham, and Whiteside. After the race, the winner drew the number five ball, reversing the top five grid positions for the weekend’s second encounter. This meant that Hopkins would start on pole position for Round 14.

Following the race, for contact with Gamble, Martin was given a three-place grid penalty, and deducted 12 championship and 12 category points. For contact with Smith, William Jenkins (Team Parker Racing) from Stafford was deducted four championship and four category points.

Hopkins led at the start of the weekend’s second race, with Pro-Am’s White tucking in behind him, and Whiteside maintaining third. Martin was soon up two places to seventh, while Rackstraw got ahead of Gamble to adopt fourth. When White ran wide, Whiteside got though at Luffield for second, and Rackstraw followed him through to adopt third overall. Whiteside attacked Hopkins for the lead, but he then came under fire from Rackstraw, who overtook to secure second spot. However, the positions were soon reversed, when Whiteside got back ahead after Rackstraw ran deep. Hopkins now led Whiteside from Rackstraw once again.

On lap 19, Martin passed White for fourth overall, he was now positioned directly behind his championship rival. The top six cars were together, as Hopkins, Whiteside, Rackstraw, and Martin, were joined by Gamble and White in one long train. Hopkins survived a late attack from Whiteside to take his second win of the season, joined on the overall podium by Whiteside and Rackstraw.

White tops Pro-Am White started the weekend’s first race ahead of his Pro-Am category rivals. And, at the start of Round 13, he was able to stay ahead. However, Max Coates (Duckhams Yuasa Racing by Graves Motorsport) from Richmond in North Yorkshire was soon able to gain the category lead, with White and Josh Stanton (JTR) from Oxford giving chase. When Coates suffered a spin, he fell back down the order, and this created a new race order of White leading Oliver Jackson (JTR) from Reigate in Surrey, from Stanton. Jackson, Stanton and a recovering Coates raced line astern in their fight for second in the category. On lap 24, Coates finally found a way back ahead of Stanton, using the inside line at Luffield, and the order stayed the same to the flag. White, Jackson and Coates formed the first Pro-Am category podium of the day.

White was the leading Pro-Am category driver once more in the weekend’s second race, with Jackson running second in the category, and Stanton in third. Though White fell down the overall order at the front of the race, he maintained his category advantage throughout. In the final laps of the race, Coates closed on Stanton in the battle for the final Pro-Am podium spot, however, despite trying to overtake on several occasions, Coates could not find a successful way through. The Round 14 Pro-Am podium was created by White, Jackson and Stanton.

Beeson closes on Am glory Cavers edged ahead of Beeson in Saturday’s qualifying session to start Round 13 in front of his category rival. Beeson maintained his advantage at the start of the weekend’s first race, however, later on, Cavers found the speed to challenge and he got ahead. On lap 28, Beeson retaliated, gaining a run out of the last corner to overtake on the inside line at Copse and finishing ahead for his ninth category win of the 2025 season.

Cavers and Beeson reignited their fight in the weekend’s second race. Beeson was ahead but he came under intense pressure from Cavers throughout the race. In the second half of the encounter, Cavers got his nose alongside Beeson on several occasions, but he backed off to avoid contact, leaving Beeson to take another victory, and to move closer to Am category championship glory. Porsche Carrera Cup GB arrives at Brands Hatch for its exciting finale on the weekend of 3-5 October 2025, where champions will be crowned on the challenging Grand Prix circuit.
