“I think probably the first win, which was in Long Beach. That win was all about team execution. We didn’t have the fastest car, but there’s many ways to be successful in motorsport. Having the fastest car is obviously the easiest, but when you can do it without that, that’s really rewarding and exciting.”

“I wasn’t involved in motorsport at all in my childhood or growing up. My first exposure was at university and I ended up sleeping in workshops and travelling all over the place and so I kind of knew that’s where I wanted to be long term. That was the springboard for when I graduated of picking up the phone and making some calls and I was able to get a job at Penske right out of school.”

“It’d probably be one of the GT cars, because I don’t have the skill to race one of the prototypes to be honest! I have a 911 at home and I love driving that on the road, so I’d probably pick one of the RSRs from five or six years ago, because that was probably the pinnacle of GT racing. And I love the sound!”

“It was probably when I was about 16 or 17-years-old. I’m from North Carolina, so oval racing is big and I was just working at a local shop helping on Legends cars, which are motorcycle-engine oval racing cars. Just going to the track for the first time and being a part of the race got me hooked and here I am 30 years later."

“I’ve always told people that I went to school for engineering and racing was something I took a chance on and it’s worked out. But if I didn’t do racing, I’d probably do high-speed manufacturing, like assembly line design. It’s always fascinating to me to see machines moving at high velocity and high speed and assembling things. Wire goes in one end and something comes out the other that’s a product, and I always enjoyed that. So that’s probably what I’d have looked into.”
