Race Format and Points Structure

The championship consists of three categories, based on the drivers' pace and experience: professional, Professional-Amateur, and Amateur. In addition, all new drivers to the Championship are automatically entered into a Young Driver Development Programme, where they compete to win up to an additional £35,000. Finally, there is a team championship where each team assigns a maximum of two drivers to score points for them throughout the season.

Race Format

In 2025 we will continue the partial reverse grid for race two on each championship weekend.

Race One

Drivers' fastest qualifying time will decide their place on the starting grid.

Race Two

The finishing order of the first race will decide the starting grid for the second race of each weekend. If a driver does not finish in Race 1, they will start behind the last race-finisher within their category, and not at the back of the entire grid. The reverse grid format works as follows:

  • The winner of Race One selects a number between four and six at random

  • The number selected at random will decide if the first four, five or six drivers over the line of the first race will have their grid positions reversed for the second race. So, if the number drawn at random is four, the winner of Race One will start in fourth place, the driver that comes second will start in third place, the driver that comes third will start in second place and the driver that comes fourth will take pole.

  • Starting positions for all other competitors will relate to their finishing order in Race One.

Both Race One and Race Two will continue to feature standing starts.

Points Structure

The points allocation system, consistent across all categories, remains in place to ensure the best driver wins.

Pro (Race One) points will be allocated as follows: 1st .......................................................... 12 points 2nd ......................................................... 10 points 3rd .............................................................8 points 4th .............................................................6 points 5th .............................................................4 points 6th .............................................................3 points 7th............................................................. 2 points 8th .............................................................1 points

Pro (Race Two) Pro-Am and Am points allocation: 1st .......................................................... 10 points 2nd ............................................................8 points 3rd .............................................................6 points 4th .............................................................5 points 5th .............................................................4 points 6th .............................................................3 points 7th .............................................................2 points 8th .............................................................1 points

Additional Points

For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.

Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO2 values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO2 values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO2 emissions of a car.
